Prison Break s3 premiere tonight! Getting very excited! :) Granted I've already seen the first 17 minutes. but damn I'm looking forward to seeing it again and seeing the rest. Here's hoping for more Alex angst... ;p
Have some thoughts on the Emmys.. some good, some bad. Happy that Terry O'Quinn won for supporting actor, good for him... and happy and surprised that Jaime Pressley won for supporting actress in a comedy (though admittedly I was pulling for Jenna Fischer). Also happy that The Office won for best writing for "Gay Witch Hunt", because I love that episode. NOT happy, however, at James Spader winning best actor again - wtf? He won two years ago and people were pissed off then! Can't believe he won over Hugh Laurie and James Gandolfini. I don't watch The Sopranos, but if James Gandolfini won over Hugh I would have been satisfied based on what I know of the show. But blah. Disappointing. I was spoiled by stupid IMDB.com about The Sopranos winning best drama, but wasn't surprised either way and from what I know I'm sure it deserved it (plus it was obviously going to win...) 30 Rock was a bit of a surprise for best comedy, I expected Ugly Betty since it won the Globe and is the biggest new comedy this year. Haven't seen either, anyway, so can't really say... would kinda like to see 30 Rock, actually, so might check it out. Dean Winters guest starred in s1. :)
So yeah. Same old, same old. Some surprises, some disappointments, some laughs (loved Rainn Wilson rapping, loved Colbert, Stewart, and Steve Carell jumping up and down and hugging like a bunch of adorable dorks... lesse.. umm... anything else fun happen? ^^;)

Date: 2007-09-18 12:05 am (UTC)Besides, Prison Break is cemented within me as an "evening show"; it would feel just wrong watching it now during dinner when it's all sunny and shit. Can you imagine watching Supernatural at, say, noon instead of night?

Date: 2007-09-18 12:11 am (UTC)Heh, I'll watch anything anytime... when I'm catching up with shows I watch them at breakfast, lunch, dinner, nighttime... anytime. :) But granted, SPN is a good nighttime show.
Incidentally, if you're looking for new shows this season, Pushing Daisies looks like the best bet imo. Granted it may crash and die within a few episodes, but if it doesn't then we have a potentially very very good show on our hands. The pilot was fantastic, and it's very quirky and non-mainstream. Hence, the crashing and dying. It's got a supernatural bent ("guy can bring people back to life with one touch and kill them with the second touch"), but a lot of the new shows have supernatural bents (it's the new thing, it seems, due most likely to a combination of Lost and Heroes). Anyway, Tues at 8 on CTV or Wed at 8 on ABC, premiering Oct 2/3. Though you may want to wait until we know if it'll last for at least a season... *sigh*

Date: 2007-09-18 03:47 am (UTC)15 minutes left - pretty good so far, I think. I hope this season lives up to s2, which I adored...

Date: 2007-09-18 03:57 am (UTC)And Mahone just keeps getting more and more awesome.
As for the episode, it was pretty good, just like all the others. Felt suspenseful and the story seems interesting. I also like the setting (especially that it's not taking place in the US, like just about every other show), because it keeps it refreshing. The only thing that I'm weary on is the whole inmate-run rules-are-rules prison thing it has going on. I've seen it done before several times (Lord of the Flies comes to mind); it's nothing new and I'm afraid that it might not work out for the show.

Date: 2007-09-18 04:05 am (UTC)Yes, yes he does. *clings to Alex* How much did I love him when he was shaking and desperately trying to get at the last of his drugs and looking at pictures of Pam and Cameron and... oh. *sniff* I so want him to work together with Michael to escape, and then to run away with Pam and Cameron. I am conveniently ignoring the fact that he technically does deserve to be in prison for the rest of his life considering all the people he has killed... but OH, when he jumped out and saved Michael and snapped that guy's neck? I might have cheered. ;) And then ran to LJ to post that comment. XD
I thought it was pretty good, too... it'll be interesting to see where they go with this premise. So far I think I prefer s1 and 2, but we'll see what happens. Had some good stuff, and was suspensful and exciting as always. Am vaguely amazed that they're getting away with some of this stuff (and some of the stuff in the past, too...) in an 8pm timeslot, though. o.o Imagine if it was at 9 or 10! (and on HBO! oh the dream..)

Date: 2007-09-18 04:24 am (UTC)I wonder how much we'll be seeing of LJ and Kellerman this season.. LJ was hardly there last season.

Date: 2007-09-18 04:30 am (UTC)Considering that Kellerman got shot repeatedly in the back of a van then flitted off to play with Kate Walsh on a certain spin-off of a certain show, I'd say not much chance. :( Though who knows, maybe said spin-off will crash and die and Kate Walsh can go back to GA so I only have to watch one show instead of two and Paul Adelstein will come back to PB and it'll turn out that Kellerman was taken to SONA. I can hope, right?
LJ though, yeah, hope we'll see more of him. Am quite fond of him...

Date: 2007-09-18 04:46 am (UTC)Yeah, I hope LJ makes more appearances. I hate it when shows acknowledge characters but never show them due to problems with the actors (see Buffy, Romania episode.. or was it Italy?).

Date: 2007-09-18 04:51 am (UTC)Oh god, that was terrible... the random blonde head that was supposed to be Buffy! And it was Italy, btw. That said, if you read the comics they provide an explanation of sorts, or more to the point a little in-joke to the fans who all complained about that scene.
Also, bad news, but that's what they're planning to do for Sara until she comes back (or doesn't...). They said they plan to do flashbacks and brief shots using blurry back of the head shots and look-a-likes. Shoot me, kthnx. That said, they've promised they won't recast even if Sarah leaves the cast, which is good.

Date: 2007-09-18 05:00 am (UTC)I can tolerate them using flashbacks and blurry headshots, but I'd rather they kill her off instead of using substitute actresses.
I really hope that she does come back though. Can you imagine the angst and bitching Michael would go through if he found out she was dead? God, it would last like 9 episodes. :|

Date: 2007-09-18 05:10 am (UTC)I agree.. well, I don't mind substitiutes for the occasional blurry background shot, but definitely not full recasting (which, as I've said, they've at least promised not to do). I hope they just take her off the show for awhile but leave teh door open, and if by the end of the season Sarah has decided she absolutely doens' twant to return, then kill her off. And oh yes, the Michael angst. Wee, that'd be fun. ;) Poor guy, though.
