Hi, I'm Mako-chan, welcome to my new Dreamwidth account. :) At the moment this is just a back-up to my Livejournal ria_oaks, so all content will be crossposted to both. We'll see where things go from there...
Quick intro: I'm currently working in a small tour company doing administrative work, and am looking forward to gaining more experience and working my way up in the industry. I also graduated three years ago with a B.A. at the University of British Columbia in Interdisciplinary Studies, in which I studied primarily Film/Popular Culture, Literature and Sociology.
I'm a fannish geek who spends far too much time watching and studying TV and reading fic (largely of the slashy variety). I also draw a lot of fanart and have recently started crocheting geeky dolls (see my Dolls tag for them and my older fabric-based plush dolls).
Current main obsession is Due South, which I fell in love with 15+ years late, but whatever. It's awesome. Previous obsession, which I still have a deep fondess for, is Fakenews/Punditslash fandom. Other obsessions current and past include, but are not limited to, Supernatural, Doctor Who/Torchwood, Battlestar Galactica, Chuck, Community, Glee, Slings & Arrows, The Big Bang Theory, Iron Man, OZ, Farscape, Lost, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, Babylon 5 (my one true TV love), House M.D., Harry Potter (my one true fandom... almost 10 years and still loving it! Well, the books, anyway. The fandom kinda scares me sometimes, but I have a soft spot for it in spite of the rampant insanity), RPGs, and various other things guaranteed to cement my status as a geek.
That's pretty much it. If you want to friend me go ahead, and I'll most likely friend you back. Just drop me a comment to let me know. ^_^ I'm always looking to meet new people online!
