PB, Heroes, Reading Week

Think I'm going to be heading to Halifax for Reading Week, now... NYC's still a distant possibility, but even if it works out I don't think I'll go. Too expensive, too big a deal, and I'm going to Orlando the next week anyway so I don't really need 2 big trips. Looking forward to Halifax now; I called my uncle and he's fine with me coming. It'll be fun to hang out with the family and do very little beyond spending time with them, watching Supernatural, and possibly playing FFXII if they don't mind me bringing my PS2. XD Hey, I won't have much schoolwork to do, so I might as well make use of the time to play more. ;p
Also, PB tonight=love. And the end of Heroes=omgwtf?
There was kissing! And Sara and Michael beating on Kellerman for the torture! And train escapades! And the return of Mahone's little pills! Woo hoo!
And I honestly don't really care that Haywire's dead. Knew someone was going, and better him than anyone I actually care about. Long as Sucre's still safe...
T-Bag's creeping me out even more, if that's possible. Meep.
Kellerman is awesome. Though he still deserved Sara's justified attack. Hah. Been looking forward to the fallout from the torture ever since Team Scofield-Burrows joined up with Kellerman, and it didn't disappoint. Though would've liked to have seen more of Michael going batshit on him for touching his girl. ;p
But then there was Michael-Sara touching and feeling sharing and kissing and squee! I'm not even a big-time shipper of them, but I like them and I was excited. "The first thing they tell us is to never fall in love with an inmate..." *meaningful looks* *kissing* *sound of me squeeing in background*
I want to see more of Mahone going up against the Company. Let's hope they remember that... -_- But return of the pills made me happy, and I liked his little talk with Haywire about how he understands what it's like to be cornered. I am glad that he didn't actually outright kill him, though. I really hope they do right with his storyline; I'm a bit worried, but fairly optimistic in general.
Man, it must suck to be a Peter/Claire shipper right now. Unless you're into the 'cest, in which case carry right along. ;) But I'm sure quite a few fans aren't happy about this new development. It was a nice shock, though, either way. ^^ I didn't see that coming at all.
And, umm... that's all. Decent episode overall; liked the Claire stuff and the Peter stuff, didn't care much about the Niki stuff or the Isaac stuff. Hiro stuff was pretty good. Eh. Can't get all that excited about this show, though I enjoy it.
Also, I finished 2 more
fanart50 drawings and am in the planning stages of another. Woo hoo!

Date: 2007-02-06 05:36 am (UTC)Good Prison Break episode. Looks like they're having a little fun with Bellick. Felt sorry for Haywire (in that-'he doesn't understand what he's doing so he's innocent'-kind of way). I wonder if Mahone was being compassionate or just doing his job..
Watched any more Supernatural?
Fucking 9.0 earthquake is supposed to hit Vancouver this week (and next week). They've always said 'the big one is coming' but it never did. But they also never gave a timeframe. Scary thinking about it. :/ Thank God for the tsunami-shield, otherwise known as Vancouver Island, that we have. Maybe they'll move the capitol to Vancouver if Victoria gets annihilated. Would be nice.

Date: 2007-02-06 01:31 pm (UTC)I'm tempted to replay FFVI, too, though I probably shouldn't right now... can you send it to me when you get it?
Haha, I loved the part where Bellick was practicing his 'FBI' intro.
Watched eps 5 and 6. Realised partway through 6 (the one with the shapeshifter) that I'd seen it before at some point..
I heard about the earthquake, but didn't know that it was supposed to be that bad. o.o Fuck, that is scary. Rather glad that I'm not there right now, but I don't like thinking of you guys being there for it... I hope that it doesn't cause too much destruction. Can't believe that the 'big one' might actually arrive finally; I always just kinda assumed (hoped) that it wouldn't be in our lifetime. Are they actually saying that they think it'll be on that level?

Date: 2007-02-06 02:24 pm (UTC)What'd you think of 5 and 6? I don't remember those episodes.
I don't remember the actual technical terms for it or anything, but the plate that's going to fail has had pressure building up on it since the 1700's, which is the last time it shifted. Seismologists have noted tremors (4-5ish) slowly moving north (toward) up the Cascadia Subduction Zone last month and this month, leaving a window of about 1-2 weeks where the chances of 'the big one' finally happening are higher; albeit still, very, very low. When it happens, it's going to be a 7.0-9.0 definitely. If it does not happen now, the next window will be April of next year. The good news is, on Saturday they reported that the minor tremors have subsided, so hopefully it was all a false alarm.
Vancouver is going to be leveled, and Richmond and will Vancouver Island will probably be annihilated, thanks to the tsunami waves happening shortly after. On the mainland, we have too many old buildings that are not up to earthquake standards. Thankfully, the apartment complex I live in, while old, is built low to the ground and has a tough foundation/frame structure (...Lol). Fires are still a real hazard, however, and the giant chlorine gas cloud of death that will come from the chemical plants nearby isn't going to be a fun experience either.
Funny thing is, I watched they news and there is no mention of it. The information I know about it is from Internet news sites, and even finding those is difficult. Panic control, perhaps?
I know I shouldn't be living in fear or paranoia or anything, since it's not healthy. But the last time they brought this up was back when we were in elementary school and nothing ever happened. Just now they bring the issue up again - surely they must have a good reason to do so, don't you think?

Date: 2007-02-06 09:06 pm (UTC)When's your midterm? How much do you have left to do before RW/end of midterms? I have quite a bit due next week, but am I working on it? No, I've been playing FFXII and watching Farscape. Did a bit of work on my essay proposal/bibliography, but still not really sure what I'm going to say in it. And she wants 10 sources for the biblio. -_- I went to the library the other day, and almost all the books I'd planned to get had been taken out in the day between me looking them up and going to get them. bleh.

Date: 2007-02-06 09:30 pm (UTC)Don't know when reading week is. Don't care, really.
Did you see my reply above or did e-mail notification fail again? :/ Sometimes I don't know whether that failed or you decided to reply later or something.

Date: 2007-02-06 09:49 pm (UTC)Yeah, I got it, just too lazy to reply. XD
Started playing a bit of FFVI; ahh, memories... I think I last played it maybe 6-odd years ago, on emulation. First played it in '99, prob. I want to (been meaning to for awhile) get an actual controller that I can plug into the computer so I don't have to use the keyboard. Too painful using the keyboard. ^^ Though not sure how to tell the program (using Visual Boy Advance) that I'm using the controller as my input.

Date: 2007-02-07 04:48 am (UTC)I think I last played it longer than 6 years ago; maybe 8 or so? They censored out the Celes torture/rape scene early on because of a string of recent kidnappings in Japan, I hear, and didn't reinsert it back into the NA version. Similar to what they did with a certain captive scene with Penelo in FFXII, but they put it back in for our version. I remember when Japan used to have cool
weakcensorship laws. Even anime is heavily censored nowadays. Sad.no subject
Date: 2007-02-07 04:51 am (UTC)Really? Huh. It's been so long since I played the game, I don't really remember that... but censorship sucks. *sigh*

Date: 2007-02-07 04:58 am (UTC)I completely forgot about it too, but I saw a thread on it somewhere while looking for the ROM yesterday. *Shrug* Maybe someone will make a patch for the scene or something, which wouldn't surprise me considering that they made one for the FFIVA strippers. -_-
