FF ramblings

I happened to check Rpgamer.com a few minutes ago and noticed that FFIII:DS comes out today (I haven't really been keeping track...). I'm probably just being too over-emotional, but this day feels rather historic in the RPG world - the last Final Fantasy that wasn't released in the US is finally here. I checked, and it's been approximately 16.5 years since FFIII was released in Japan - well, better late than never, I guess. XD I mean sure, I played it years ago on a translated ROM and I won't be buying this version anytime soon (lack of a DS... and lack of time to play. woe.), but it's still cool to think that it's here. It's sort of a pity that the original version of the game will never make it here, most likely (how hard would it have been to include the orignal version in the new game, really...?), but the new version looks pretty spiffy. Hopefully I'll get to play it someday.

3 FF games in the past 2 weeks, 2 of which are new to the US (FFXII and FFIII:DS) and one of which only ever made it here in a mangled fashion (FFV Advance) - makes me miss the days when I could play all the time... I haven't really been into gaming as much the last few years, largely because of a. lack of time during school, b. other interests take up my free time, and c. i'm lazy., but I still get excited hearing about games and still want to play when I get the chance. I'm way behind on all the games I'm playing, but I still plan to ask for either FFXII or Disgaea 2 for Christmas (leaning towards the latter - FFXII will be easy enough to find for years to come, and it'll get cheap fairly quickly, whereas Disgaea 2 will start disappearing soon...). I am sorely tempted by FFXII, though - it's been getting fantastic reviews, and hell, it's FFXII! We've been waiting for this game for years, and it's finally here... and I really can't justify the time or money to get it. Part of me, too, is still a bit uncertain about it - but most of the reviews have said that the game is nothing like (and much better than) anything we've seen of it to this point, including the demo. I plan to give it a chance eventually, but can't do it yet.

And... I'm procrastinating. Back to my Farscape paper... it's due tomorrow at 9, so I need to get moving. Up to 5 pages, need about 12 - and I'm still blathering on about the context, haven't even gotten to analysing the series itself! Ehehehe. baaack to work.

Extremely lazy. Woke up at 11, did a bit of work for Mom, went to the Cove, then watched 5 hours of TV from 4-9. Now Mom's gone down to N Van and I'm all alone in the house which is niiice. My grandparents are coming up tomorrow, though.

Work up at 12. Played some VP1 for two hours. Watched two hours of Raymond, did some gardening, had dinner, watched Great Expectations. Now I'm watching some Seinfeld.

Yeah. I was in a shitty mood so I probably didn't enjoy it as much as I may otherwise have, but overall I thought it was pretty funny. If I remember I might check it out again next week.

Nope. Though I now have FIVE shows that day... well, 4, since Earl is over. Why, what's on then? (incidentally, I hate NBC's fall schedule, which came out today... they screwed up my hour of Earl and the Office from 8-9 and they moved FNL to a death slot aka Friday at 10. blah.)

Just had a shower... meh. Tempted to take some tylenol or something.

Yeah, it's fitting, but it's a sucky slot... plus side is I don't watch anything else on Friday, but it's already got low ratings and was on the fence and this slot certainly won't help it. At least it's not up against anything else, I suppose.

Yep. Showcase is awesome. Last year it was Trailer Park Boys, Billable Hours, and Curb Your Enthusiasm all one-after-another on Sunday. It was..magical.

Bleh; it's probably their way of subtly getting it cancelled. Friday nights should be left to movies and other non-drama programs.

Yeah... Well, at least they renewed it. I've still yet to catch up; I've only seen 6 eps, but what I've seen is very good. My mom's hooked on it... she's ahead of me and she keeps asking me to download more. XD But yeah, Friday night is an overall terrible time for TV - that's where Firefly was... sigh.

I think I'm going to stay away from The CW until Thursday evening. There's nothing else I watch on that channel anyway, except for Seinfeld and Frasier at 10 and 11.

I think Smallville, Supernatural, and One Tree Hill are confirmed to be returning for another season, while things aren't looking too good for Veronica Mars. :\

Yeah, I'm avoiding the CW... A preview came on awhile ago and I turned around and plugged my ears (remote was too far away...). XD But yeah, I also really have little to watch on it other than Seinfeld.

Yup, I heard that. Though they don't release their fall schedule until Thursday. I'm hearing news now that VM isn't on the fall schedule yet and we're not going to hear about it until after upfronts. Meh.

Glad SPN is officially renewed, though.

My GOD I'm lazy today. Woke up at 11:30, felt like shit, went back to bed until 2, felt better, got up, played some FFXII finally, got ass kicked by a boss, checked my equipment and realized I was equipped with crap, re-equipped my characters, went crazy in the Lisence board for awhile, kicked the boss's ass, grandparents arrived, chatted, watched Oz, ate dinner, finished watching Oz, now watching Friends.

Productive, no? XD

They're releasing a revision of FFXII, with a job-class system and all. Pretty annoying, considering we've spend $70.00 on a now outdated version.

A ride would be nice.

Yeah, that's FFXII International, right? They did the same with FFX. Sincerely doubt it'll come over here, though - FFX International didn't. Bleh.

Yeah, your apartment always gets really hot when it's warm I've noticed... you should go outside - it's warm, but much more pleasant than a hot stuffy apartment since there's a breeze. It's gorgeous out today; I wish I'd actually... done something.

Watching Seinfeld now. House next, then SVU. *headdesk*

Go us. XD And we're up to 520+. Woo hoo! 1000 here we come... we should see if we can do it as quick as possible. It took us 6 or so monthes to do the last 500...

Laaazy. Been watching TV all evening. House, then SVU, then switched between Letterman and Leno from 11:30-12:15 to see Masi Oka and Orlando Bloom, then watched some Friends, now watching The X-Files... I remember this ep. Guy could kill people with his shadow or something.

Almost finished Dean!Doll's body, just sewing his legs on... Woo hoo!

I'm bored too. I bought next semester's textbooks before summer, and I think I'll start reading just to have something to do, and it's probably a pretty smart idea, I think.

Ah, you Science students... us Arts students are lazy and don't do things like that. XD Though I think I can claim that by watching a ton of TV this summer I am studying and preparing for my future career in TV or entertainment writing. XD XD

Until Friday or late Thursday. Keep em as long as you want (within reason... XD), I don't need them back soon. Soon as I get #4 and read it (early June) you can borrow it too.
