First off, happy birthday to Stephen Colbert! I know I've drifted a bit from fakenews/pundit fandom, but I still love you. :)

And second, happy Supernatural day!! Can't believe it's season finale time already - in about 7.5 hours 6 (this took me awhile to write, and I got distracted...) I'll be listening to Carry On Wayward Son playing over over 'The Road So Far' (or at least I better be - it ain't a Supernatural finale without Carry On Wayward Son!). Other than the CW's trailer, I'm totally unspoiled for this ep. I just hope no one awesome dies. :( I'm just glad this won't be the final episode ever, though... whatever season 6 may bring, I'm not ready for the show to end. I remember watching the season 4 finale last year (while in Melbourne!) and thinking, "one year from now I'll be watching 'The Road So Far' previously-on and listening to Carry On Wayward Son for the final episode ever of Supernatural". And the thought made me muchly sad. :( So, yay for this not being the series finale!

School, work updates )

In other fannish news... I finished watching due South last weekend, finally. I'd been trying to spread the last few episodes out because I didn't want it to end, but I finally gave in and watched Call of the Wild. And it was glorious. :) I was pretty much spoiled for it from fics, but I didn't really know how all the pieces fit together or precisely how the show ended, so it was intersting to see how it all worked out. Ended differently from how I thought (I vaguely thought that the 'quest' actually took place in the episode, because I wasn't too clear on what the quest was or what the episode was actually about, and I'd been triyng to avoid finding out) - and ended on a lot happier and more hopeful note than I'd thought, so yay! I mean really, could that ending BE any more slashy?? Wow.

DS finale spoilers, because I need to squee even if no one will read it )

There's probably more I'm forgetting... so many awesome moments, and I'm sad I've finished watching the series now but it was great to finally see the finale. Now, at least, I can read any post-series fic that I was avoiding, and watch post-series vids.. and I watched the s3/4 bloopers, which were great. Not least for the part where Paul and Callum mimed having sex. ^^ I was totally thinking that when I saw that actual scene ("So what, we still partners?" "If you'll have me.") - I mean, how dirty does that sound? Evidently Paul and Callum feel the same way, LOL.

And speaking of DS, I need to work on my DS Big Bang art... I finished reading the fic and have started sketching out the drawing. It's pretty ambitious for me, and I KNOW the perspective and proportions will be off because I'm not that good at actual scenes with multiple people, but hopefully it'll turn out okay. It's due in a little under a month, so I have some time. I also need to work on my [community profile] lgbtfest ifc, and by work on, I mean start. Sigh. Have a little under a month for that, too.

And okay, this has gotten way too long, so I'm stopping now... except to say, new default icon! I finished writing this then went in search of DS icons, got a bunch, and for now am making this my default. Sorry Keef and Andy, I still love you, but I've had that default icon for going on a year...

NBC RENEWS CHUCK

Woo hoo!!! *dances* Rumours were starting to circulate that it'd been renewed, but it's been confirmed! Yay, thank god! Only 13 eps, but maybe we'll still get the back 9? I think it was only picked up for 13 eps last year, too, then NBC ordered an additional 6 eps or something. I hope we get it in the fall, not midseason...

Suppose I should post my SPN thoughts, but not sure what to say... I had a growing headache throughout (dunno why; combination of being tired from a long walk I took earlier, and having pizza for dinner, I think), and that kinda coloured my ability to enjoy it by the end. Pity. -_- Mostly I liked it. Will theoretically say more later...

Network upfronts are next week, but I'm not sure what's left to be announced! Least not that I care about. Most of the renewals and cancellations have already been announced (several of them today, it seems). L&O is cancelled, which is a bit of a surprise because I thought NBC would want to go for the "longest running drama" title. ^^ Suppose that's a bad reason to renew a show, though, and the ratings were terrible. I never watched it, anyway... only ever watched SVU, mostly for Chris Meloni, and I gave up when it started to suck. Rumour has it that Heroes has been cancelled - I gave up watching after this fall, anyway... hated the damned carnival storyline, it was so boring. Pity, because I like Robert Knepper and was excited he was going to be on the show. But I hated his character and storyline. I have some of the episodes in Jan/Feb on my Tivo but haven't watched them and doubt I will. Actually thought it had ended back in February for good, anyway, and was surprised when I found out it was back this spring and hadn't been cancelled yet. ^^ Oh, and sounds like V is renewed - I should watch that, I keep meaning to... saw the first 2 eps and enjoyed them. And it has several cast members I like (Morena Baccarin of course, and Elizabeth Mitchell... and Alan Tudyk for awhile; dunno if he stuck around or not, though).

Anyway, main thing I'm waiting for in upfronts now is for the CW to announce it's schedule (next Friday, I think?). Rumours are flying around about Supernatural starting midseason and airing on Fridays (it's going to be on Fridays during the summer for reruns, but no real word on if that'll stick). Hope the rumours aren't true... though I imagine s6 will be the last regardless, since Jared and Jensen's contracts are up after s6.
