Boo, I finished watching SGA tonight... am rather sad that it's over. I never got all that super into it, but I enjoyed it on the whole. It really is too bad it didn't get a season 6 and a movie evidently isn't happening, because I'm definitely intrigued to see what could happen next - it would have been a very different show in s6, I think, and it would have been interesting to watch. Sigh. :(

Anyway, with SGA finished I need a new show! [profile] cerulean_pulsar, who got me into and lent me SGA, is bound and determined to get me to watch SG-1 but I don't see that happening anytime soon. It's just... 10 freaking seasons. And I've never really had any interest in it, though I might watch someday. SGA I mostly wanted to watch because of the slash fandom, heh. And yet ironically, John/Rodney never really clicked for me. I like the characters (esp Rodney, because frankly John's not particularly interesting imo) and I like the pairing well enough, but not in an "OMG they're meant for each other OTP forever!" kind of way. I've read some fic and enjoyed it, but don't have much desire to read a lot more. Not like dS, where I'm still always on the prowl for good fic I haven't read. ^^

So. Other shows to watch. Next up is probably Castle, since I've only seen the first 3 eps and, you know. It's Nathan! On a network show that's lasted 3 seasons and is still going! I'm so proud of him... :) I also want to watch Fringe, so between the two that'll keep me busy for a lot of the summer. Want to be caught up on both, if I get into them, by September.

Any other recommendations for good shows to watch? Any genre/SF shows I absolutely must watch that I haven't? I feel like I've actually seen most of the major SF TV franchises now to at least some extent, with one rather glaring ommission... and while I would like to finally watch some Trek (because really, what kind of SF fan am I?) I don't even know where to start. o.o [profile] cerulean_pulsar thinks TNG or Voyager (his favourite) - any second opinions?

Oh, and there's always The Sentinal if I feel like getting my cheesy '90s slash fandoms on! I'd like to check it out at least a bit, out of curiousity if nothing else. I was reading a summary of the show last night because I really didn't know anything about it beyond the fact that evidently Jim and Blair are in love, and wow - yeah, it really does sound slashy. XD

Wooo! I'm not even a hockey fan, but woooo! That was exciting and stressful, even for me. ^^ I rarely bother watching, but I had it on in the background all evening while I cleaned my apartment (which really really needed it) because really, the city's excitement has been infectious for the past few weeks. Yay Vancouver! :)

Mmm, I feel like I should a useful post with actual content, because I haven't for awhile... I never posted about the Stargate con, did I? It was a lot of fun. [personal profile] jedinic and I got our picture taken with Joe, David, and Paul, which was pretty awesome. Soon as I get the jpeg (which I ordered so we could make a 2nd print) I'll post it under f-lock so you guys can see. It turned out well, I think. :) The Atlantis panel was interesting, too, and I managed to pretty much avoid getting spoiled. I'm glad I'd seen up to 4.10, though, because they mentioned a fairly major spoiler from that ep at one point. (and it goes without saying that I'm glad I'd seen "Sunday" beforehand - that would have been a shitty way to find out, otherwise... well, it was shitty anyway, but least I had time to deal with it and also learn that the character in question comes back before I went to the con!).

Anyway, I finished s4 last night and now that the game is finally over I'm going to watch the s5 premiere in a few min, prob. I'm enjoying the show on the whole, even if it's kinda silly at times and I lack the level of emotional attachment to it that I have to other shows. But Rodney's awesome, of course. And I actually teared up a bit in the s4 finale, I think for the first time in the entire show, at the thought of Rodney in that other timeline. Made me sad. :( I've been reading some fic - I had a brief period of wanting to find some Rodney/Beckett, but couldn't find much and nothing really good (it's probably out there, but...) so I gave in and am reading McShep. Working my way through [personal profile] cesperanza's fics because, hell, I can't go wrong with her. Part of me wanted to watch SGA just so I COULD read her SGA fic, because I've read all of her dS fic and want more.

I can hear people yelling and cheering outside... god knows what it's like downtown. ^^ (though I don't think anything could ever top the Olympics game last year - that was amazing... never seen anything like that downtown)

Ugh, CBC's switched to election coverage now that the game's over. I'll be happy when this is over... although the result probably won't be what I want. *sigh* Well, consider this my public service reminder to all Canadians on my f-list - go vote on Monday! I already voted early, because it was more convenient and there was no lineup. :)

Off to have a shower and watch the SGA s5 premiere. Woo. Almost done the show! Then I need to find something else to watch. Possibly Castle. *considers*

I just realized that I totally forgot to post about the clip of tonight's SPN ep that came out a few days ago, that shows a scene filmed 5 minutes from where I live... and now the actual ep has aired. Heh. Nothin' spoilery here, just want to comment on how it's still always so weird to see places on TV that I go to regularly. You'd think I'd be used to it after having my house be a standing set on Men in Trees, not to mention seeing UBC in every show ever, but... this time it's one of my favourite shows, it's 5 minutes from me, I walk through there semi-frequently (including today), and I MISSED THE DAMNED FILMING. *sigh* Least I finally saw them film couple of weeks back? But still. ;_; And they must've been filming there for awhile, because there are several scenes on that street and on the stairs/in the little plaza area.

Oh, and my non-spoilery review otherwise? Good ep, I really enjoyed it. One of the better eps this season, imo.

Anyway, on another note - I'm going to the Stargate con in Vancouver tomorrow! Yeah, wtf, I know, I'm only at the start of s4 of SGA, haven't watched SG-1, and am not really that big of a fan. And I'm still reeling from watching the ep 'Sunday' on Monday night, even after learning that the character in question comes back. Still was a hell of a shock, and I'm glad I wasn't watching when it aired. ^^ But anyway, tomorrow is the Atlantis panel - Joe Flanigan, David Hewlett, and Paul McGillion are doing a 2-hour panel together, which will be fun. Even though I'll no doubt get spoiled... oh well. Plus, [personal profile] jedinic and I decided to go in on the photo op with all three of them - it's only $89, plus $10 to order the .jpg then $10-20 or whatever to get a second copy printed somewhere. Total of around $60 each. Pretty damned good! Especially considering that Creation usually charges exhorbitant prices. (see also: the fucking location tours which made me actually angry because I hate that they charge $200 for a bus tour when anyone can go find the locations themselves... And then there's the J&J photo at the Supernatural con which is well over $200 this year. Christ. So $60 for all 3 of them? Hell yeah.)

So yeah, I'm looking forward to tomorrow - at the least, it'll just be fun to hang out with fans. And for the first time I'm actually going to a con WITH people, not by myself! Woo!
