Blatant Advertising 101 Part 2: Cafepress
Dec. 24th, 2007 08:04 pmFurthering our attempts to market Dad's work and Make Money... we have a Cafepress store now! Probably ditching the eBay idea - too expensive and too much work. Cafepress is great; nice and simple, cheap (free for basic store, $4.99/month for premium store), and they do all the work! And it's a proper store, without things ending and all. Much better. We're got 5 things up so far, and will have many more once we upgrade to premium. So far we only have one design per product up, because that's all you're allowed on basic, but that'll definitely change (and as always, if you want a different painting on a product, just ask!). Anyway, so far we've got 2 t-shirts, a mug, a mousepad, and a tote bag. Will definitely get a calendar, too, and prints and such. I think this is going to be good.. now, I just have to figure out how to market it. I've hunted out some art/artist LJ communities, including
cafepressowners which is explicitly for artists to promote their CafePress stores! Shiny.
Anyway, check it out.. feedback is always appreciated! And tips. :)

Also, Merry Christmas Eve! I'm getting pretty excited for tomorrow. ^__^ Had a nice steak dinner with my parents tonight; tomorrow my grandparents are coming up so they'll be five of us - nice and small Christmas, as usual. Too bad
soliloloquyv's family couldn't make it out this year, though. :( Least we saw them in the summer. Hope you guys have a great Christmas, btw! :) Say hi to your parents and sister for me... (for those that don't know, they're my Mom's brother's family, and they live waaay out east in Halifax *grin*). Anyways, I'm glad we have small Christmases; even when her family's out it's not very big really. Some people have huge Christmases, and that just seems too stressful. o.o
