Time in Seattle is almost over... :( Heading back early tomorrow on the train. But it's been awesome! Very geeky weekend, heh, my poor mother...

Saturday

- Went downtown in the morning/early afternoon, wandered around, went to Pike's Place Market and had lunch. Bought a magnet at Golden Age Collectibles that says 'Don't blame me, I voted Stewart/Colbert", never mind that I could never have voted to begin with. ^^
- Arrived at the Pacific Science Center around 2:15; our time to see Harry Potter was 3:15. Wandered around the regular exhibits for awhile, then went to wait for HP around 3. HP exhibit was great! They did a really good job of putting it together, and there are lots of costumes/props/etc. The costumes are really detailed when you see them up close and are beautifully made, esp the more complex/detailed robes. Also was excited to see Snape's robes. ^__^ Alan Rickman actually wore those! Mmm... And Lucius's robes, complete with snake pimp cane. Didn't end up buying anything in the gift shop; nothing I really wanted enough. But they had a plush Monster Book of Monsters, which was pretty hilarious. XD

- That's about it for Saturday, really. Had Mexican food and and rented The Invention of Lying, which we hadn't seen and it's really quite funny. Gotta love Ricky Gervais. And there's a huge cast of random famous people who make cameos, like John Hodgeman. :) Who is awesome.

Sunday

- Battlestar Galactica exhibit!!! DUDE. SO FRAKKIN' AWESOME. Sadly the rest of the sci-fi exhibits were closed because they're putting in some stupid Avatar thing, but the BSG exhibit more than made up for that. It was fairly small, but still very cool. There was a Cylon ship and 2 Vipers, plus an old-style Cylon standing next to the ship. :) Lots of costumes, includingn Starbuck's flightsuit, Six's red dress (yum), Adama's uniform, one of Roslin's dresses, Baltar's lab coat, and - to my very shallow excitement - one of Leoben's outfits. Clothing actually worn by CKR! I hope they didn't wash it. ;) ...okay yeah, that's kinda gross, sorry. But mm, clothing that Callum wore... Several more costumes, plus various props including Starbuck's dogtags (nice, I want some) and the Arrow of Apollo (cool!). There were also various documentary shorts playing around the exhibit, which were interesting, and a couple of kinda silly but amusing interactive things.

Anyway, it was quite small, really, but it was still really cool to see all the props and costumes. And my mom actually enjoyed it and wants to see the show now! Go figure. XD So yay, I'll have to get ahold of s1 and show her the miniseries. Gotta check if it's on s1, actually, or if I need to get it separately. I think I may actually have a copy on my external hardrive, or at least I used to.

Pictures of the exhibit later; I'm too lazy to transer them to the computer now. When I get home...

Oh, and also! I bought this t-shirt. ^__^ It's pretty awesome. I really wanted the top-right poster in this propanganda posters set, but they were only selling them in a set of 5 for $35... So, yeah. Oh well.

- Did some shopping in the afternoon, but not very successful. Went back to hotel around 2:30 to relax for a bit, because we had an early hotel reservation at 5. Fantastic dinner, too... but more importantly:

- Dr. Horrible!! I convinced Mom to go, heh. ^__^ I saw a live version in Vancouver back in September, but it was interesting to see another version. They did a good job, I thought. The guy who played Dr. Horrible was quite good and could sing well, as could Captain Hammer. Penny was only so-so, I thought, but she was pretty decent. They included several random Whedon references ("Zoe Wash Laundromat", "Blue Sun Courier Service" (during the Wonderflonium heist scene), and "Dawn Summers" and "Joyce" (the news people)). Might have been more that I didn't see, too. Everyone cracked up at the Blue Sun Courier Service. ^^ They included quite a few songs from Commentary! The Musical, which I still haven't seen. Really need to see it. Anyway, Mom enjoyed it well enough, though I don't think she totally got it. ^^ Might still convince her to watch the original...

And that's about it... hanging out in the hotel now, channel surfing. And UGH, we just landed on Fox News and O'Reilly is interviewing Obama. Mom wants to see how he defends himself, but I'm not sure I can handle it. o.o So glad we don't get Fox News in Canada; I hate channel surfing and coming across it. Go away, O'Reilly...
