ria_oaksGaah... FML. :( I've had a toothache for the past few days and was told I'd need to get an old filling replaced, so I went in today and lo and behold... they need to do another fucking root canal instead. This is #2 this year, #4 total. I'm 24 for fuck's sake, I shouldn't have already had 4 root canals. ;___; They started it today but I'll need to come back a couple more times (I have a couple of other fillings, too) and the cost just keeps adding up. My parents can help, but I hate to keep asking them (they've already helped with this month's rent). The last damned root canal from February is still on my Visa. ;_;
*sigh* Anyway. Just feeling sorry for myself. :) I have some work coming in April from Mom's publisher which, in addition to anything I may get from the temp agency, should help. Then I'll prob start the travel & tourism certificate in May and I'll get a student loan for that, then once I'm done I can get a real fucking job. Woo! Hopefully with dental insurance! I miss my dental insurance. :( Never realized how expensive dental work is until suddenly I didn't have insurance. (Guess I'm not too badly off, though - my dad has to get about $10k worth of work done soon, since they don't have dental insurance anymore since Mom left the college).
But yeah, I'm looking forward to starting this program and hopefully a real career. I think it'll be pretty fun (plus, travel discounts!) and will provide lots of opportunity for advancement, as well as transferable skills for if/when I decide to move to another industry. I'm still really hoping to get into Flight Centre, and may even bite the bullet and apply across Canada - Mom thinks I should, because it could be fun to move to another city for a couple of years (though I'd like to eventually end up back in Vancouver - it's where I grew up, and it's where my parents and grandparents are).
For now, though, I'm just going to sit here for the rest of the day, feeling sorry for myself and waiting for the freezing to come out and the pain to start. :) It was aching while I was still at the dentist and they gave me a couple of painkillers; hopefully it won't be too bad later. Suspect that McDs or similar will be in order for dinner, because yeah.. doubt I'll want to cook. Especially when I can't feel part of my mouth. -_-
