Updates and such

So, a quick general update, because I haven't done so in a while... I can't really type right now though, so this may be short! (or not, evidently)
1. The reason I can't type well - I smashed the middle finger on my right hand (why did it have to be my right hand?? sigh) in a door last night and it still hurts whenever I touch it. So I'm typing with 9 fingers, which isn't easy. Went to the doctor today and they drained some of the blood from under the nail, which helped. I tried to do it myself last night (I was up on Bowen, far from any walk-in clinics! and it hurt like hell) with a paperclip and a candle (melt a hole in the fingernail to release the blood) because I'd read it is easy... yeah. not so much. Couldn't get it to work then started to feel woozy because I've got a weak stomach and gave up. Probably for the best. ^^;
2. I'll write more about this later when I can more easily type, but... I've (mostly) decided to look into a career in the travel industry, specifically travel agencies, with the hopes of working up from a travel agent to maybe marketing or package/product development or such. Yes, I realize that sounds sudden. ^^ Kinda is, though I've thought about it on and off for awhile. I'm thinking pretty seriously about taking a 12-week certficate course at the Canadian Tourism College this summer, to lean some skills and be better equipped to get a job in a travel agency (Flight Centre would be awesome, but it's competitive!). I need some direction in my life right now... am mostly moping around doing some temp work and trying to figure out what kind of real job/career I want. Always thought I wanted something 'media or entertainment' related because I'm interested in that stuff, but I really don't know what kind a job I'd want in that area (which is, let's face it, a very very broad area) and... I dunno anymore. Might be better just as a hobby/interest. And I like traveling. Plus - free travel! XD
3.
lgbtfest prompting has started! Woo hoo! I've started writing a bunch up which I'll post soon, including some pundit ones, some Slings and Arrows ones, and some The Big Bang Theory ones. And don't ask me why, but I've got like 4 prompts with Sheldon as trans (3 MtF, 1 FtM). I can't even really see it myself, but... I got kinda stuck on the idea. But now that asexuality is allowed (yay! I was annoyed that it was excluded because evidently it wasn't 'lgbt' enough or something, but I didn't want to say anything... others did, though, and they changed the rule) I'm adding in at least one 'Sheldon is asexual' prompt, because hello, practically canon. :)
4. Saw Alice in Wonderland on Thursday. Surprisingly good - better than I'd expected based on the trailers. I actually really liked the premise, and it had a darker and more adult tone to it (particularly with Johnny Depp's portrayal of the Hatter, which was both comical and tragic and really very well done). Worth seeing, IMO.
5. Saw Moon last week, finally. FANTASTIC movie, thanks to those that recced it. :) $5 million budget and old skool special effects, used oh so well and proving that shiny computer effects does not necessarily equal better movie.
...and this ended up longer than I expected, given that typing's still a challenge. Am getting a bit more accustomed to the 9-fingered typing. But that's enough for now... it's not exactly comfortable.
