White Collar 1X04 - OMFG I love this show. It's like they're just writing it for the fans and they already know what we want. XD XD So much flail, where to start...
This was def my favourite episode since the pilot - there was so much awesome about it, and so many funny and entertaining and subtexty scenes... I loved the first few scenes, with Neal totally being owned by Peter and Elizabeth. "We have clerks for that!" "I have you. Go." And then Neal coming back to the office with the file and seeing Elizabeth in there and being all "I'll come back" and Peter being all, "come back Neal". And then Neal trying to leave later and Elizabeth snapping at him to stay and he stays. Good boy. ;)
And... oh god, lesse. Peter being so incredibly awkward when Dana starts crying. "I don't know what to do when women start crying! I mean, with you I just slug you on the shoulder -" "that's right" "- and say cowboy up!". Oh boys. :) And then he tries to tell Dana the good news and she starts crying and he's all "what did I do??" and El's all, "go upstairs" because of course she has him (and Neal) wrapped around her pinky finger...
And of course, the scene at Neal's place... I can't believe they actually did that! It was like a date! Peter gets kicked out of his house for 'girl's night' and goes to Neal. He brought him wine! And beer for himself, which I thought was hysterical and shows the difference behind them... Neal all refined and cultured (albeit, you know, criminal) and drinking wine, and Peter chugging back beers. And MOZZIE showing up, omg. And the three of them dancing around each other until Peter's all "do we have to keep this up? I know who you are..."
And the entire thing about the pawn shop, with Neal breaking into the journalist's desk and finding the pawn shop slip, and Peter trying to distract her and being so bad at it, by god man you're an FBI agent. Lol, he just doesn't know how to deal with Neal... I loved Neal's pretense for picking the lock on her desk, with the rose and the note, and then him not being able to use the photocopier! And then of course making 2 copies - silly Peter, you should have known better. Actually, he may well have... but that way he could claim no knowledge of it.
Oh, and I almost forgot - I loved Neal watching with such fascination as Peter handcuffed whatshisface, Mitchell. Jealous, Neal?
I really don't have any deep thoughts for this show, honest to god... just pure bouncy fun and flail. This is def becoming my favourite new show of the year (Glee is a pretty close second, followed by Community), and this was imo easily the best ep since the pilot. I enjoyed eps 2 and 3, but this ep was a blast. Also, one of the things I really like about the show over regular crime shows is that it's not about murder and stuff, it's about art forgeries and other white collar crime... but esp the art stuff - because the great thing about Neal, of course, is that by the nature of his crime he is very knowledgable about art and culture and such. Which is just.. awesome. I love having a show about this kinda stuff rather than murder/rape/etc with overly graphic death scenes aimed mostly at shocking the audience as much as possible. Cause sure, the show's about crime and the FBI, and Neal's a criminal and all, but... it's all so much fun, and so strangly cheerful. And Neal's like a puppy. Who, you know, cons people and forges art, but still...
(meanwhile I'm listening to the Glee soundtrack for more happy fun times... I love the music, and they really are fantastic singers. I loved Wednesday's episode and the Defying Gravity duet. Which I'm very happy is on the soundtrack so I can listen to it again and again... makes me want to see Wicked again too, heh.)
