*headdesk* I just called the woman I'm supposed to be meeting with, for the work I lined up through the guy I know back at home, and evidently he had given her the impression that I was "coming at some point to Australia" and that this "some point" was in a month or so. So she was very startled to hear from me. ^^; And he only just contacted her a week ago. Oi. -_- I'm meeting with her tomorrow, but this isn't quite what I expected... he made it sound like it'd be a few weeks worth of work, and she thinks it's like an afternoon or two. And she's very busy with kids, evidently, and I gather she runs the business out of her home. *headdesk again* This oughta be interesting. ^^;

On the plus side, I'm all moved into my new place now, and it's decent enough. Nice to be out of the hostel and living in an actual apartment, even a shared one. The TV only has 4 channels, though, and doesn't seem to have the Comedy Channel. :( Oh well, that's what the Internet is for...

Anyway, since this obviously won't take long... better start looking for a proper job, stat. Bleh. Thought I'd have a few weeks. ^^;

bah! that sucks. i am scared of the job search.. def don't want to be harvesting somewhere in the out back..

is the apartment quite expensive? (don't mind my asking)

Yeah, me too... was hoping I'd have a bit longer to wait until I had to job search. :(

I don't mind. :) $170/week (works out to $24/night, and $680/month), for a shared room/apt... there are 2 rooms, one has 3 people (the one I'm in) and the other has 2. Frankly there are probably better deals out there. ^^ But I just couldn't be bothered to look more, so it'll do for now. I figured that this way, at least, I'd get to meet people.

Thanks. :) Glad you enjoyed! Looking forward to you getting here! :) When you do, you could always check out the organization I got this place through - might be able to get a place in the same building or nearby... beats a hostel, and it's a bit cheaper. :)

yeah! St.Kilda sounds like a rocking neighborhood. Hopefully they'll still be some hot days when I arrive to sit on the beach. I am going to miss nice weather completely so it seems... The weather in Halifax is is is is terrible.

Well, that's 600 CDN, much better than the 600 EUROS I paid in Paris :P

Yeah, it's pretty nice so far. :) It's supposed to be warm this Friday, too, so hopefully we'll still get some nice hot days... probably not swimming-at-the-beach-hot, though... :(

I know the feelings, I'm nervous about job-searching... I know I've worked at a decent job the past couple of years, but still worried. *sigh* Gotta start searching soon, woe.
