So... Mom and I gave up. :( Highway 1 is closed, busses can't get into Horseshoe Bay, and then we heard the ferry is cancelled... Evidently the latter isn't true, but nonetheless. We didn't want to risk the lower route - Marine Drive from HSB into West Van is pretty windy and treacherous. Anyway, thank GOD I have a place in the cove - we're crashing here, we've brought some of the presents in, and I made a fake tree from a chair and a green blanket. ^^;; Hopefully we can make it down tomorrow, otherwise Saturday. Dad's stuck in North Van alone, though. :( Not the greatest Christmas in the world, but I suppose it'll be memorable..

Yeah, I'm home safe. No worries. :) Grandparents expected any minute, then dinner 6ish, and presents! Presents! XD I'm more worried about getting back at this point.

I hope your Christmas goes all right in the end. Poor you guys, trapped where you don't want to be… *hugs* Have a merry Christmas, whatever happens.

I was just about to reply to your journal about that, lol. Guess I'll do it here and save you the "spam". ;) I'm glad you guys made it back to the mainland, even if you're steak-less.

At least it's a white Christmas, right?

Yeah, glad to be home... even if our Christmas Eve dinner consisted of omeletes. ^^ Oh well, we still have the turky for tomorrow. Though cooking it down here rather than at our nice house up there kinda sucks. Oh well. White Christmas, indeed! I haven't seen this kind of snow in Vancouver in YEARS. o.o

You guys have a nice Christmas Eve?

Oh look, it's 12:04... officially Dec 25th!

Merry Christmas!

Yeah, you'll have the turkey tonight. :) We had hand-killed duck yesterday, and will have store-bought ham tonight. I hope it's a good ham. We usually end up with salty ones.

I haven't seen this kind of snow, period, in years. Not since the 90s.

We had a good Christmas Eve. Grandpa didn't seem to talk quite as lengthily, but then, I did manage to escape to the kitchen between courses this year too. Got some good presents, especially the DIGITAL CAMERA, and a book and movie I asked for. Couple CDs, some chocolate… ^^

The news just said that Highway 1 is beginning to open, if you want to risk it.

Yeah, we took the 6:00 home, and the highway was pretty clear. It reopened around 3:30-4, I think. Glad to be home...
