*giggle* It's almost 1am and I'm still up and totally giddy... and totally addicted to Punditslash and reading it semi-obsessively, which I blame on the election and all of Jon and Stephen's shameless flirting. And Stephen totally had an oral fixation thing going on - I was re-watching the end of their election night coverage online (because I read that Stephen surriptitiously wiped away a tear after Obama won and I totally needed to see, also cuz Mom called the moment after it was announced and we talked a couple of minutes, so I missed some of it), ANYWAY, watching it reminded me of how Stephen kept sticking his pen in his mouth and swirling it around. Guh. o.o

So yeah, this has led to me searching out and reading lots of Jon/Stephen and Jon/"Stephen" fic, which has in turn led me read fics which involved, among other things, Jon and Stephen getting Anderson Cooper drunk 3 hours before he had to go on live TV and then proceeding to host AC360 while totally drunk. Also there were blueberries involved. And it was awesome. :)

...see, this? Is why I probably should stick to newspapers to get my news. XD

Still giddy. And randomly giggling. I feel like I'm the drunk one, and I haven't had a drop to drink. Oh well, it's more fun this way - no bad aftereffects. (and to be honest, I don't even like the feeling I get from drinking - this is why I've only gotten truly drunk once in my life, and have basically given up drinking...

...I should go to bed. But first, icon. *runs off to find something suitable*

There we go. See - aforementioned oral fixation.

Okay, exhausted all of a sudden (it is after 1, after all...). Bed now.

I've been on the Internet a long time, so nothing should really surprise me. But Colbert fanfics? Yeah, that did it.

Do you know if you're free next Sunday?

LOL yeah, Punditslash has got its own little corner of fandom... Jon/Stephen's easily the most popular, unsurprisingly, but some of the others are pretty popular too (I was kinded weirded out by the idea of Anderson Cooper fic at first, lol, but I'm warming to it - for some reason Jon/Stephen seemed relatively normal I guess cuz of the nature of their shows, but writing about a normal CNN newscaster seemed... odd. Heh. He's pretty popular though, evidently).

(incidentally, I borrowed Stephen Colbert's book "I Am America (And You Can Too!)" from the library and started reading it, and it's hilarious. Written completely in character. Brilliant so far.

No plans I can think of for next Sunday, no. Quantum of Solace? :)

Whoops, got the name of the book slightly wrong... it's "I Am America (And So Can You!". Just for the record.

Also, wtf, my icon's still weird... that happened awhile ago too, didn't it? It's been like that since last night now... huh.

There we go. I deleted it and put up another one... I've had that same one since May, anyway. o.o

I could never really get into late night talk shows, for some reason. I never really knew about the going on in the US back then, so the jokes largely slipped by. Would probably be different now..

Quantum of Solace was indeed what I had in mind. I should watch Casino Royale on the day before.

I never really used to, either, other than watching The Tonight Show with Dad every once in awhile cuz he watches it and David Lettermen most nights. But The Daily Show/The Colbert Report are a whole different story. XD They're hilarious and brilliant, and both Jon and Stephen are just so darned awesome. 11&11:30pm on ch57 Mon-Thurs, plus re-aired.. sometime the next day, at 3/3:30 I think? Also airs at the same times on CTV, I believe. Their election coverage was tons of fun, and they've had a great run the past monthes... lots and lots of material.

Yeah, go pick up Casino Royale and check it out - great movie. I should prob see it again first, too... or maybe I'll just read a summary to remind myself...

I squeeed like a crazy person when they started to cry.. it was so moving and so monumental! I'm not even close to being American but it got me all teary-eyed as well <3

I'm not an avid reader of fanfiction, but everybody can see that the love between Stephen and Jon is epic and forever. Obviously :D (also: adding Anderson Cooper into any kind of fanfic is automatically made of win!^^)

LOL yeah, me too... such am amazing night. It was really remarkable to see the rest of the world, including us up here in Canada, so excited and happy about the US - this has already made a definite positive change in how the world views the US, it seems. It's been a pretty negative and cynical past 8 years, both for them and the world, but I like to hope that they'll be able to move forward now. And rebuilding better relations with the rest of the world is key.

Okay, I'm getting too serious now. XD On a lighter note - I started reading Stephen's book "I Am America (And So Can You!)" last night, and it's a hoot... you read it?

(And yes, their love is totally epic and forever... I totally LOL-ed when Stephen was all "What's that on my leg?" And Jon's all "Sorry, I didn't realize you could feel that." *gigglesnort*)

No, not yet (I currently have no freaking money for import books *lol*). I did, however, read Jon's "America - The Book" a while ago. It was totally hilarious! It has pseudo-hand-scribbled annotations all over and brilliantly funny graphics and tables... it's like a mock school text book and I LOLed basically all the way through ;-)

Too bad - maybe someday. :)

Cool, I'll have to read that after. Stephen's is kinda similar in that way - lots of comments (albeit typed) in the margins and footnotes, and funny graphics and whatnot..
