I've been hearing some negative opinion towards Heroes this season, but as with last season I'm totally enjoying it in spite of popular opinion. ^^ Oh show. Oh SYLAR. I wasn't a big Sylar fan in s1, but he grew on me in s2 (first there was the scruff, then there was the killing Alejandro. That pushed me over the edge...), and I love him now. Adored him last ep playing partner to Noah and being all awesomely sexy in his suit and slicked back hair playing the cop, and I just about had a heart attack this episode with the dorky smile and the glasses and the waffels and the APRON... and little Noah, which WOW how did that happen and I want to know who the mother is... (and what's the relationship between Sylar and HRG in this verse for him to name his son after him? Intriguing... I'd love to see more of them as partners of pure awesomeness). I'm trying to prevent myself from becoming a Sylar Redemptionista, but they're making it difficult, dammit. Not least because the entire thing is made even more awesome by his going totally apeshit and causing a huge explosion because his son died. But mostly I was just overcome with the urge to giggle insanely and go "awwwww!" and squee over him and Peter.

(which, Peter? Holy FUCK ya'll. With the having Sylar's power, and the killing his own brother. Both versions of Peter have killed a verison of Nathan now... yikes. He's going down a dark, dark path. There was speculation and discussion after the premiere about Peter and Sylar being set up as a classic "brothers facing off on two opposite sides" trope, and this episode definitely makes me wondering if that's going to happen but not quite as we were expecting.. well, either that or they'll join forces and be evil together. And does being evil together make it okay for them to have lots of hot incestuous sex? Cuz I'm just sayin'...)

(also, is it deeply, desperately wrong that I think I'm more fascinated by Peter/Sylar now that I know they're brothers? God please help me now... that family is so deepy fucked up. o.o Don't think I've forgotten Claire's little "I've always loved you" declaration to Peter, either - seems an odd thing to say to one's uncle as one kills him...)

And. Um. I have totally given up on having any pretence at deep thoughts for this show, haven't I? Because okay, yeah, it's not the greatest show in the world, but I don't even CARE anymore because it's so much fun. Same with how I feel about Prison Break... and Torchwood, for that matter. Though I love all three to death, and in spite of their problems I think all are pretty decent shows in their own rights.

Mostly right now though, really, I just want to go find some baddirtywrong Peter/Sylar fic, pref based on this episode (come on fandom, I know you can turn out fic that fast...). And then go to bed at some undetermined point, I suppose...

*a few minutes later* My point is proved. (haven't read it yet, so can't attest to its quality, but am about to read it. And it's the point that counts, anyway. ^_^)

Also, I need a Sylar icon based on this episode. Come on fandom, supply me! ...or well, I might transfer the ep from my TiVo and cap it myself for the icon. We'll see... Need to change icons anyway - have had this one since May. At the least, I need a new Tony icon. o.o

Did you watch the Prison Break episode?

I was hoping there would be more of it, to be honest. The previews last week made it seem like it would be a central focal point of the episode, but it was really just the last act. Also, fuck Ronald.

Next week's previews look great, however.

I'm seeing parallels between Peter Petrelli and Sam Winchester here. Does that mean Nathan's going to be the true hero of the season? He's already got his own morally grey angel on his shoulder. No Ruby parallel that I can see though, unless we say she's Angela. XD

I'm overthinking this, aren't I?

Also, ADAM! Whee! Yay! Adam!

Oh, and I really want to know what the HELL is going on with Mohinder. What's his power, really? I don't want him to succumb, even if it means he channels Nazguls. :(

Mostly he's just kinda annoying me these days... and I desperately want to smack him, that idiot. -_- Hope he returns to the old Mo we knew and loved... well, granted, he's always been kind of an idiot (Sylar, anyone?), but still...

Yeah, no kidding. Smack the man! Maya shouldn't have given in last episode. Also, Hiro? And Ando? Argh! He needs a good smacking as well, methinks. DX Why are the dorky, stupid, nice characters being trashed this season? Why?

Damn, sorry, I meant to reply to this sooner... need to get back on top of my email. o.o

Hmm, yeah, true enough re: Peter and Sam. Indeed, even before this I think there were parallels. Both sorta quiet and studious with outgoing (albeit quite different) older brothers who overshadow them in the eyes of their parents... but who pursue their dreams in spite of what their parents say. Then who promptly get dragged into a bunch of shit. *grin* I really want some fic for them, but the Sam/Peter comm (yeah, there is one... ^^) is pretty much dormant. Did find one nice pre-series one, though.

But anyway, yes, it'll be interesting to see where they both go, and how their relationships with Nathan/Dean will progress in light of everything (esp considering how dark Peter is going, willingly killing his own brother... twice...)

Yay Adam. :) Though I rather wish they hadn't included David Anders in the opening guest credits - kinda gave it away. ^^ Still, am excited to see him back - figured they couldn't just leave that storyline where it was last season.

Hey, it's okay. I'm NEVER fully on top of my email…

Yeah, there were, but this season's really bringing them into sharp relief. Not really surprised there's a Sam/Peter comm. There's a comm for everything else, after all. :p I'm hoping they'll both be redeemed and come back to the light, of course. I think I might have to wait until the finales, however.

Heheh, that's why I don't pay attention to the names in the credits and don't remember many of the names of the actors either. ;)

Yeah, I think they will be.. Sam, at least, I don't think is a bad man ultimately. He's just.. going through a phase. XD Peter, otoh, willingly killed his own brother and now has Sylar's powers and potential for evil. Worrying... but I think (hope) that he'll come around eventually.

On a completely separate note - do you want to go see City of Ember? I remember us talking about it a few monthes ago, and although reviews have been mediocre I think I'd still like to see it. Plus, gotta give you your (very late) birthday present. :)

No, Sam's not a bad man. He just has to, um, work through some personal demons? *ba-dum-chick* I'm thinking Peter can be redeemed too—Sylar is apparently evidence that the Hunger can be fought—and I'm also thinking there's a good chance that a cure will be developed by the end of the season, since so many people seem to be talking about it and genetics and everything.

Hmm. Sure. I think I'd rather see Changeling, but that's not out till Halloween apparently, and there is the issue of the birthday present… When does CoE start? Tomorrow?

Oh yeah, I'd like to see Changeling, too... it's writen by JMS, aka creator-god-writer of Babylon 5. ^^

CoE's already out; think it came out last week? Anyway, this weekend prob won't work (well, maybe... I'm going into town tomorrow, prob, but Mom and I might go see something. And I'm prob seeing Burn After Reading on Sunday w/ [livejournal.com profile] bk635. But it's possible...). When are you next free on a weekend?

Hmm, okay, maybe that would be better then? It looks slightly less cheesy, at any rate.

As for weekends off … I have next Friday! After that, I don't know. Need to write down my schedule… This weekend doesn't work. I'm doing evening shifts both days. Let me know if Friday works, and if I doesn't, I'll suggest other things. ;)
