I had an odd dream last night in which I discovered an episode of The X-Files where Mulder and Krycek had sex. It felt very real at the time, and I was quite disappointed to wake up and realize that it probably didn't exist. ;) This is all really quite strange, given that I haven't been a big X-Files fan for years, and was never really hardcore into X-Files fic although I always felt a certain fondness towards that pairing.

Anyway. I just felt I should share that. ;) It was a pretty sweet dream, realy. Suddenly I kinda want to go watch some old school X-Files and relive being 12 years old and obsessed.. good times. :)

Dreams are generally more fun from a first person perspective.

Well, it was kinda from a first person PoV because it was me and I was finding the episode. :) It was very vivid and realistic, too, as I recall. Had a bunch of other weird dreams last night, one involving Harry Potter and one, oddly enough, involving eating a mango, but the XF one made me laugh when I woke up and it just needed to be shared. ;)

Some of my dreams are episodic, which is awesome. And other times I'll have a dream which I first dreamt like 10 years ago. Which is also awesome. I wonder how many dream theories I personally defy.

And I meant first person as in...first person. ;p

That's nifty. :) I used to have a few recurring dreams as a child, one in particular, but it never really evolved in an episodic fashion or anything. It was really weird, too, and involved strange things floating in jars. Or something. I don't remember it well anymore. o.o

I'm procrastinating now by looking at the old XF fics I wrote when I was, like, 12. Like my XF/BSSM crossover in which Mulder and Scully join the Dark Kingdom from S1 of BSSM. Then everyone gets dubbed. XD It's... truly frightening.

What the hell? You dream about jars? :|

No no, not really... *thinks of how to explain it* It was a LONG time ago, but I had it a lot. I was in some weird creepy cavern with my mom and great grandmother and and there were... I don't even know anymore, it's just a vague sensation of a memory. But I think there were weird really creepy things, like brains or something, floating around us. I dunno.

Maybe you saw a movie with a mad scientist, or something, who kept brains in jars. That's what they do, you know? (I need a brain in a jar if I want to fit in D:)

Sometimes I toy with the idea of keeping a dream diary, which will allow me to unlock the awesome lucid dreaming ability. It would be fun to flip through later down the years, too.

Yeah, who knows. o.o It was strange.

Lol, yes, you do that. XD I'll never come over to your place again if you do, though.

That'd be neat... I remember some particularly memorable dreams, but only in fragments. And many of those are fannish, cuz I'm a dork. XD

My school has dissected animals and everything in jars.. Even a cat. D: A jar brain is probably not that hard to get a hold of..

You should read up on lucid dreaming if you don't know what it is. It's one of those things which would be really fun to be able to do, but it takes effort to get there so you never get around to it. -_-

You're not going to go steal a brain in a jar from school, are you? XD

Nifty. I've had dreams where I'm vaguely aware that I'm dreaming (in fact, I think that happened last night... I seem to remember suddenly realizing that the episode wasn't real and that I was dreaming, but then I woke up later and realized that I had been asleep when I thought that.) But full recognition of being in a dream, and being able to induce it and control it and such? Wow, that'd be neat. :)

Maybe.

Yeah! Think of all the dream-orgies! I've had lucid dreams before, but they're extremely hard to induce, and even harder to control. But I think it would be awesome. I could jump off the Shangri La building in Downtown and free fall. :o

Dude, I think several of us were writing versions of that story in which Mulder and Scully join the Dark Kingdom, because I rather distinctly remember composing at least a page of it (the necessary scene in which they quit the FBI). I was going to give them my fast food straw energy draining scheme, mostly on the principle that someone had to do it. Weirdly, I don't remember any attempt to address or explain the sudden inversion in the characters' moralities.

For some reason I've been remembering the X-Files lately, too. Like much of the internet, I was left by the series with a bit of a sour and dwindled taste in my mouth, but I wouldn't mind watching some of the better episodes again.

Oh yeah, I def remember you writing parts of it. :) That was a fucked up fic... I vaguely remember scenes involving Mulder and Zoisite on a bed made of ice (your idea, I think) and Kunzite and Scully in a closet. I dunno, I decided against re-reading it because it'll make my eyes bleed. ^^;;;

*goes to skim part of fic* It seems that they joined because they quit their job at the FBI because they weren't being paid enough, and they saw an ad for the Dark Kingdom. And I think sunflower seeds factored in somehow. ^^; I couldn't read anymore past that, cuz yikes. That said, I can send it to you if you want. ;)

Good memories of that show, in spite of the end... yeah, I too have slightly soured memories because of the last few seasons, but still fond memories of the earlier episodes. Kinda want to watch some now... and because of that dream, preferably eps with Krycek. :)

I actually feel like rewatching the first few seasons in preparation for the movie. Or at most, up to the point where Mulder gets abducted - it just stops being fun after that point, if I remember accurately.

Yeah, I'd like to rewatch some of the early stuff... it was good up to s6, imo. But the first 4 were probably the best, as I recall... I don't even recall Mulder getting abducted? Unless that was late on? Scully gets abducted in I think s2... it's been awhile. o.o That was the episode on Grouse Mountain, and I think is the one where Krycek first betrays Mulder. Or something. Fuck, I don't remember that show very well anymore...

Scully getting abducted was a major over-arching plot and a huge character developer. It was dealt with in the 'good' seasons. Mulder was abducted when he left the show, I think. After that it was Scully on her own for a while, and then Doggit and that other one were introduced. Something like that.

Oh yeah, maybe... somewhere in like s7 or 8 or something. Then somewhere around there Scully had his child and the aliens wanted it or something, and that's about when I stopped watching. ^^ And I never got into Doggett and Reyes, though they're reasonably popular I suppose. I always preferred the old school show, though, when it was just Mulder and Scully. The last 2 seasons were pretty different, from what I hear, and while I think at least s9 is halfway decent, it never really held any appeal to me. I'd like to rewatch parts of the old eps, though - I saw part of the 2-parter that takes place in Russia in s4 or something, with Mulder and Krycek and the black oil and stuff, pretty recently. I think that's when Krycek gets his arm cut off, too. Could be wrong, though. I think, though, that those are the eps with the infamously slashy "Mulder handcuffs Krycek to a balcony" scene. ^^;;; Good times.

*iz nostalgic now* I seem to recall that Krycek dying was the last straw for me, and I gave up on the show after that. By that time, as I recall, Mulder was gone, the CSM was dead, and frankly I just couldn't give a crap anymore. Then I hear they killed the Lone Gunmen in s9 or something. Not. Amused. *sigh*

Something like that. My understanding of The X-Files is very fragmented. I didn't begin watching it from the beginning, and when I did follow the new episodes, I also watched syndicated reruns of older episodes on other channels.

Yeah, I remember the black oil too. Never really understood it, though. ;p

Yeah, the Lone Gunmen died. Honestly - I thought you watched the last season or two?

Me too. I remember you and Sara were really into it; I think it was gr7 and s5 had started recently. I started watching, I guess in a combination of new s5 episodes, reruns, and videos from the library. I was a big enough fan of it by the end of s5 that I went to that big "last episode in Vancouver filming" at BC Place (you didn't go to that, did you? I think it was just [livejournal.com profile] garran, Sara, and I).

No one did. This was The X-Files, did you expect it to make sense? XD

I watched up to either mid s7 or early s8, then gave up. Sara later lent me a tape of the series finale, but I never watched it... still have the tape, in fact. o.o

I don't remember how it we all got into it.. But yeah, I didn't go to that filming.

The X-Files would probably make sense if we watched it now. Hell; I kind of want to just because I know that I'd understand it better and appreciate it more.

The main thing that I remember about the series finale is the thought: "This is obviously not Vancouver. :|" (It took place in a desert.)

I'm not so sure about that. ^^; From everything I remember and have heard, I don't think the storyline ever really became comprehensible. Namely because Chris Carter had very little idea of what he was doing with it... it was originally supposed to be episodic, but I think Fox wanted him to make it more serial or something. I dunno. Point is, he never really had a proper storyline planned out. Pity, really...

Okay, I just ended up reading the entire thing. -___- My brain is now bleeding. It was vaguely amusing, though. I'd forgotten that 'Mulderite' doesn't realize that Zoicite's a man and he starts falling in love with him. Hee.
