The Good:
- Lost winning best drama! Woo!
- FOXSHY HUG. Nuff said. ^__^ I didn't even know Josh was there until the end!
- J.J. Abrams winning best director for the Lost pilot.
- Best writing in a drama going to House 'Three Stories'! YES. As much as I liked both the Lost eps nommed (and I like Rescue Me, though I haven't seen the series pilot which was the ep nommed), 'Three Stories' was an absolutely brilliant episode that definitely deserved to win. Very happy about that. :)
- Yay Jon Stewart. I loved his pre-recorded thing when he presented. ^^ Hilarious.
- I like Ellen. :)
- Hugh Laurie and Zach Braff (sp?) presenting. Funny. ^^ I should watch Scrubs; I've heard good things about it...
The Bad
- Hugh Laurie losing. :( Very disappointed by that.
- Terry O'Quinn losing for Best Supporting Actor. :(
- Long stretches of relative boredom. Didn't care about any of the miniseries/TV movies, so kinda tuned out during them.
- Not enough shots of the Lost cast...
The WTF
- Donald Trump singing. EEEK. Funny, though.
- Hugh Laurie losing. It bears repeating. Seriously, WTF?
The Reasons It Sometimes Sucks To Live in Canada & On the West Coast
- No pre-Emmy/Red Carpet stuff.
- No post-Emmy stuff. I hear there was some really funny Josh-Terry thing on E! afterwards, but since we don't get E!...
- It had already finished by the time it started airing on the West Coast. :( I just avoided the Net and stayed in the lounge watching it all throughout...
Complete List of Winners.
In Conclusion: Yay Lost. Wah for Hugh Laurie. Yay Foxshy hug. Donald Trump=bad singer. Kinda boring, but some entertaining bits.
Probably forgot something, but oh well... Back to reading Dickens now.*twitch*

Date: 2005-09-19 10:32 pm (UTC)Still wish Hugh Laurie had won. ;_;
Life's okay. I'm procrastinating terribly at school, but am enjoying living in Gage (more independent than where I lived before...). I've spent the last few days frantically trying to finish David Copperfield; I have a class debate on it tomorrow. Eek,
How about you? How's grade 12 treating you? ^_^ What classes are you taking? Any grad events coming up? ;p

Date: 2005-09-19 10:37 pm (UTC)Gr.12 is fine. Mostly been job searching. Right now I've been writing, and drawing comic books for that same story. Haha! Right now I'm drawing the biggest mess, home of a rich eccentric who . . has accumulated alot of stuff, and doesn't clean it up.
Dunno about grad events (not really an interest . .) Takin Global history [post WW11, really awesome,] art 12 & film & video 12 where we're going to do some video projects. I've sorta been doing portfolios, that's been my other project.
We'll keep talkin...

Date: 2005-09-19 10:52 pm (UTC)I read "Devils" in 1st year, but haven't read C&P. I enjoyed Devils well enough, but it was long and a pretty difficult read. Interesting characters, though.
Heh, I never did much Grad stuff, either... went to the Grad BBQ in September, and of course the Semi-Formal in Feb and the Formal/Prom in June, but that was about it. There was a Grad Cruise in May; I gather it was just a big excuse to get drunk. -_- V. glad I missed it.
Courses sound interesting! Glad you're taking a modern History course - my History 12 (WW1-present) was probably the single most useful course I've ever taken. And very interesting. Film and Video 12? Cool, is that just production or is it studies, too? I'm taking Canadian Film 200 right now... S'okay.
I applied and got accepted into the Interdisciplinary Studies program awhile back. My offical 'thematic focus' is something to the effect of 'Mass Communications and Modern Media/Culture". It's basically an excuse to study a whole bunch of random shit (Lit, History, Sociology, Film... and Critical Studies in Sexuality next term. XD). Really, my train of thought seems to be "I like watching Buffy! Therefore I am going to study Media and Culture!" Riiight. -__-
I need a camera so I can take pics of Rez and send them to you. *sigh* I can't afford a digital camera right now. ;_;

Date: 2005-09-19 10:58 pm (UTC)yes, modern history is really great. depressing as all get out, though. mass murderer, genocide, bombing, nuclear arms race, racism, poverty, starvation, AIDS, and other diseases, propaganda. . Death, basically! We're studying alot about death.
but extremely useful, nonetheless. best part about right now is the film festival! i love movies. film & video is most production, but some studies. i.e right now at the beginning of the course. kinda .. okayish. i saw some shorts yesterday and feel newly inspired to start on something.
looks like your courses are .. should be interesting. i can't wait till montreal. wooo :p

Date: 2005-09-22 01:05 am (UTC)It was in May or something, wasn't it? I dunno, I just vaguely remembering hearing that it happened and everyone was drunk the entire time. ^^;
