Fuck me. I just saw a little spider on my wall, so I went looking for a glass to catch it in. Spotted an old glass (my Slytherin one I got from Nimbus 2003, in fact...) and went to grab it to catch said spider. Looked inside glass and was confronted with giant fucking spider. Freaked out, grabbed glass and ran into kitchen whimpering loudly, and gave it to my mom to dispose of. She said it was dead, but it still freaked me the fuck out. Didn't KNOW if it was dead, for one thing, so I kept expecting it to try to crawl out of the glass. And eat me. *ahem* Anyway, now I'm edgy and nervous to go to bed, because who knows what the fuck else is living in here? I haven't been in this house for monthes, at least not for longer than a few hours, and it's stuffed full of boxes. Part of me wants to move everything out and scour the room for creepy crawlies, but the larger part of me just can't deal. Cuz ew. I'd prefer not knowing, kthanx.

Yes, I'm a wuss. But I hate HATE spiders. Other bugs I hate but can kinda deal with. Spiders are the fucking crazy irrational terror. ewewew.

*goes to huddle in bed in horror*

(and speaking of horror, tso about tonight's SVU ep eh... lol. Talk about no payoff for all that hype. Granted I'm glad it wasn't a superbig melodramatic storyline, but I kinda thought there'd be more to it. Not surfe if I'm happy or sad that there wasn't, really, considering how lame I thought the storyline was from the start. But oh my god, Olivia craddling Elliot's head and crying out. Died laughing, ya'll. Also, Olivia/Novak verbal catfigh, much? Anyway, first ep this season I've watched since the premiere, because I was intrigued to see how bad this storyline would be. And I vaguely hoped that Chris would rock it like hell and make it better than it looked on paper, and while he was good, they didn't do much.. I wanted manpain. :( But no Olivia staring at him woefully. Yeah. Anyway. What happened to this show? Whenever I catch s1 eps it's awesome (Dean! And Munch having lines! And characters snarking and talking like normal humans, almost like on Homicide which was after all somewhat connected to it. Good times.) Now I can't even watch it... enjoyed parts of last season, which was when I started watching it, and occasionally watch old eps, but frankly the novelty's worn off. Kinda bores me now. It is/was a good show, but Chris is the only real reason I'd want to bother watching now and it's not enough. Should really finish watching Homicide, though - bloody brilliant show, plus I do love Munch's character and he's so. much. more. interesting. on Homicide. On SVU he mostly just supplies the occasionally snarky comment. It makes me sad. *is now coveting Homicide* Maybe I'll watch some later. Fantastic show.

Haha.. I would've loved to see a video of that.

Anyway, you need to go to a petstore and have a tarantula crawl all over your face to confront your fear of spiders. ;p

Ewewew. No. *shudder*

I've noticed this year that me, bf, and a couple of others have all had the same visitations-- err, infestation-- of itsy bitsy TINY spiders... lots of them. Wonder if this is new or I've just never noticed them in past years...

Me too! Check out this post, in August, if you didn't see it - http://ria-oaks.livejournal.com/386362.html

Tons of itsy bitsy spiders on my bedroom walls. Kept killing them by sticking a piece of tape over them and tossing the tape in the garbage, lol. It was gross.

Hmm... as in you still have them now? I get one every once in a while, but doing some cleaning up for my bf today, he has them crawling in his drawers and such. Given, mayhaps it's reflected in the general cleaniness of the person, too. ^^;

No, it was just that once. They were teensy, but it creeped me out. There were a ton of them, though - I'd kill one, then find another. Couldn't for the life of me figure out where they were coming from, though I suspect the heater.

How's it going with the bf, anyway? :)

ewww, creepy. I think I was lucky cuz earlier on I found their 'lair' and cleared out the whole webby mess. Now there's one every now and then... but I'm not squeamish so usually a bit of tissue or even a thumb and a quick rinse solves them. But it seems that everyone is getting them in their bsmt suites lately-- what gives??

Despite my tenancy towards rampant cynicism-- very good, actually. You guys really ought to meet sometime... let's see... free movie next fri at VPL? It's on FB~

Ick. o.o

Glad to hear it. :) Yeah, that'd be nice. I'n in North Van right now until maybe Saturday, so maybe we could do something... not really any good movies on right now, though. -_- Can't really make it to that movie next week, though, what with work.

That's too bad, ur never down here! But if it ever ever gets nice up there again, I'd love to make the trip out and visit and hang~

From: [identity profile] ria-oaks.livejournal.com
Yeah, I know... :( But I'm down here this week, until maybe Saturday as I said, and come January I'll be here quite a bit. What're you doing tomorrow or Friday?

From: [identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com
Hmmm... feel like going to an Irish pub fri nite? Guinness~ hahaha~

Tomorrow or fri could meet for lunch if ur so inclined~ Subway? I've gotta free sub coupon I've been dying to use. LOL

Sure, lunch is good... Maybe Friday. I need to take care of my mom tomorrow... long story, will tell you more IRL (don't want to tell people on the Internet; was waiting until I saw you properly again). She's okay, but she just had surgery today and she's coming home from the hospital tomorrow, so we need to pick her up and get her settled here. So yeah, Friday's prob best. Plus I just had Subway tonight. :) Anyway, it's kinda nice to be down here, even if the reason sucks. Nice to be able to go out and do stuff, and see people down here. Had to commute to the island yesterday and today for work, but now I'm off for the rest of the week which is good.

From: [identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com
Sounds good... well if you'd rather we really don't have to go to subway, that was just a suggestion lol~ if you're down here then we should head to somewhere u don't get to go often... anything spark your fancy?

Date: 2007-11-15 06:08 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ria-oaks.livejournal.com
Subway's okay, but maybe something else'd be better... just had it, after all, and had it last week too. I don't know, if you have your car we can just head off somewhere. Not sure where, but... I don't know, I'll have to let you know later when I know what's happening for the rest of the week. It's kinda crazy right now, unsurprisingly... pretty sure we're staying down for a few days, anyway. It's warmer in this house, and easier to go out to get stuff for Mom if she needs anything. And it's rather nice to be able to go out whenever I want.

From: [identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com
Hmmm if it's friday then I won't have my car, sorry. :( Besides, public transportation d/t really isn't too bad-- granville island perhaps? Or maybe even the Quay? Haven't been there in ages, to tell u the truth lol~ Oooor, we could do something crazy like all u can eat sushi. Up to you!

Date: 2007-11-15 06:13 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ria-oaks.livejournal.com
Hmmm... Granville Island or Quay maybe, yeah. Both are good. Don't think I want sushi, though, kinda tired of it. :)

So, is the bf coming? :) Do you know if he's free Friday?

Date: 2007-11-15 06:38 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] bronzejarith.livejournal.com
We'll decide then~ Quay is closer lol~

And nope, bf is busy writing boring grad applications and moping about them... but if u aren't going back fri nite then we can meet him at the irish thing.

From: [identity profile] ria-oaks.livejournal.com
Quay is fine, sure. :)

Not sure if I want to come out that night... we'll see. Not really into going out to clubs. ;) And I didn't bring any appropriate clothing down... barely brought anything down, actually - just came down Monday b/c the power went out, and expected to be back Tuesday, but power stayed out until I think today... sigh.

It's not club-- it's pub lol~~~ I could lend u something as I have plenty, but I'm expecting ppl won't bother dressing up at all. It's all casual and it's good ppl, lots of internationals & interns working in canada. Who knows-- meet someone new?

Date: 2007-11-15 06:46 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] ria-oaks.livejournal.com
We'll see. :) Depends on how Mom's doing, really...

Tape? Given your phobia of spiders, I think a shoe or other similar object, would have been more appropriate to use.

Well, they were so tiny that even I wasn't really scared of them. Just icked out, and I didn't want any left when I went to bed in case they.. crawled on me. ew. But they were so small that I could barely even tell what they were until I was really close to them. It was a lot easier and cleaner just to stick tape on em and toss em away.

Whoops...

I just got called into work starting tomorrow. Any chance we can meet today?

Hmm.. .don't want to go far afield, but maybe just to the Subway down here? Haven't had lunch yet. Not feeling 100% myself, so don't want to do too much. And just got Mom down from the hospital, so getting her into bed and such. Dad's heading out to Safeway so i have to stay home for a bit, but either we could meet ~2 for lunch or you can just pop by Subway and come to the house. If that works for you?

All right, that works for me. See you around ~2-- depends when my shuttle bus gets here. Also I tried calling your cell and home #, but the former was off and the latter was 'not in service?' I'll confirm when I see you-- maybe I remembered it wrong.

Oh, sorry, I realize I wasn't very clear in that last one there. If your Mom's just home, it might be better if we met at Subway when you Dad gets back? Peace and quiet and all of that? It sounds like you could use a brief break away from things.

Sure, that sounds fine. He just left; will prob be awhile (going to Save On then Safeway.. don't ask me...). I'll send you another comment when he gets back, b/c I'm not 100% sure that I still have the right cell #. Oh, and re: my phone numbers - yeah cell's off (will turn on now) and we discontinued the 6621 #. (kinda weird - had it all my life! but we don't need it anymore...)

You might as well get the 2:30 down... dad's not back yet, but 3 is getting a bit late. Just come by the house, I guess. Unless I call you before you get here, if he's back by then.
