Wonder what it is in Canada? Hm. Anyway, surprisingly few, really... yay me. :)
Lazy today. Sat around and played video games and wrote fanfiction (finished the SPN drabble, started a PB one that's been floating in my brain for ages and involves Michael and Alex in Panama). Went kayaking yesterday, though, which was... interesting. Fun for awhile, but tiring, and then I got seasick after we stopped for lunch so the way back was less than pleasant. Blah. Nice day, anyway, and it was good to be out I guess.
Odd to not be back at school, but rather nice. :) Hope everyone still at school is having a good start of term! I'll be in your shoes again come January...
Got some fanart to post, both SPN and PB. Will do so eventually. Been drawing quite a bit of Wincest right now, heh. *cough*
Anyway, 20 more min to the last 2 eps of PB s2, yay... and 1 week to s3!!! *cheers* I'm rather sad about certain casting spoilers I've been hearing about, but things still seem to be up in the air so I'm holding out hope yet... either way, I'm excited about the season starting. Plus, Emmys next Sunday! Woo hoo. Then the week after, almost everything else starts... looking forward to it! The latest TV guide up here had a big schedule of all the shows on each network, both American and Canadian, which is veery useful. Lets me see what's on when and what's on at diff times in Canada than in the US so I can plan out a schedule. All depends on how good the new shows are, anyway, and what the likelihood will be of them sticking around. I'm intrigued about Reaper and Pushing Daisies, and possibly Cane (Lee! and Rita!). Private Practive cause I like Addy and cuz Paul Adelstein is in it, though we'll see how it turns out. Chuck, because it looks amusing and it has Adam Baldwin in it. Watched the Fox, NBC, and CW fall previews, which was nice because I hadn't seen trailers for several of the new shows (though certain shows *coughgossipgirlcough* I've seen ten million previews for and still have no interest in. Though hearing Kristin's voice makes me sniff.
Aanyway, looking forward to the next few weeks. :) Something fun to distract me from work, yay! Also, heading up to Powell River this week for a meeting/the new logo launch, so that will be.. kinda fun, I guess. A break from the normal routine, anyway, and I'd like to see the head branch and meet all these people I'm always emailing.

Date: 2007-09-11 02:52 am (UTC)How's school?
Incidentally, there's no one in the US with your first name and ~800 with your last name. See, you're special. ;)

Date: 2007-09-11 03:14 am (UTC)School is fine. My teachers know me and I know them. I had so much fun in the lab last year that I can't wait to get back into it (twice as much more lab work!). This being my last year at this school, I figure that I'll have some fun.
When I was 9 or 10 or so I was at a friend's Confirmation (Roman Catholic ordinance) there was a board with the names of all the children undergoing the rite. One of them had my first name. The last initial was "S." Surprised me.
Those 800 are probably innacurate because the way I spell my last name is not how it's supposed to be spelled. The "L" in my name is actually a "ł" (dunno if it will show up right), which is pronounced like how we pronounce "W," and the "W" in my name is pronounced with a "V" sound (in Polish, W makes the same sound as our V; mayber softer though).

So I've been pronouncing your last name wrong all these years, eh? Damn. ^^
*is watching PB 2.21 and thoroughly enjoying it* 1 more week, baby!
Aww, this is the part where Paul almost kills himself... oh Paul. *hugs* Then he had to go and actually die in the next episode! Damn you, Scheuring. I'm still holding out hope that he survived and will pop up in Sona this season after Private Practice crashes and dies like the crappy spin-off it is. Then Adelstein will be back on PB and Kate Walsh can go back to GA and all will be well.

Date: 2007-09-11 03:47 am (UTC)I'm addicted to Scream and the Movie Central stations. Movie Central will be showing Pan's Labyrinth later this month, but my trial period will end before that. Watching Saw right now.
Yeah, you've been pronouncing my last name wrong all of these years. :p But to be fair, no one would be able to pronounce it right without me explaining it, because the sounds are different. It's easier this way.

Date: 2007-09-11 03:55 am (UTC)*shudder* Don't think I could handle Saw, though I've heard it's good for what it is. But ew.
:( But yeah, in my defense I was basing the pronouciation on the phonetic spelling and it seemed easy enough to pronouce. ;p Anyway, it's interesting to see how it's translated into English - out of curiousity, why wasn't it translated in a way that reflected the proper pronounciation?
And how bout your first name? Hope I've been pronoucing that right. XD
*is distracted by PB*
Awww, Paul just showed up at Sara's trial to testify... oh Paul. <3
And ooh, Michael and Alex talking over the phone. *happy sigh*
And HAH, how awesome was Michael stabbing T-Bag's real hand to the floor? Seriously. SWEET.
It's been far, far too long since s2 ended...

Date: 2007-09-11 04:20 am (UTC)I don't know why my parents changed it. Probably to make it easier for English speakers while keeping the spelling in-tact as much as possible. The only difference just ł -> l and how the w is pronounced.

Date: 2007-09-11 04:25 am (UTC)Eww, T-Bag just did that freaky-ass thing with his tongue. *shudder* And hee, I almost feel sorry for Bellick here except that I... don't. Haha.

Date: 2007-09-11 04:55 am (UTC)Yeah. Wasn't sure if you knew so didn't want to mention it, but SWC may not be back next season. :( She was off for maturnity leave, but now it may be permanent. It still seems to be up in the air, though, so I'm holding out hope. No one's saying anything definitive, other than that they won't recast her. I hope they don't kill her, and that they just leave the door open for her to return sometime in the future. It's a pity, I'm going to miss having such an awesome and strong female character on the screen. But afaik it was SWC's choice, so... oh well. I hope that my in a few monthes/a year, once she's adjusted to being a mother and once her daughter's grown a bit, that she'll return.
Oh man, that final shot of Michael walking through Sona... sweeet.
One more week! *bounce*
Now, off to watch Scrubs... this show is addicting and amusing. :)
