... ... ...I can't watch. Moment the last polls closed they started declaring a Conservative victory, and I don't have much hope now. I suppose it's not much of a surprise; they've been saying it for the last few weeks. As long as they don't get a majority...

oh god, I wanna leave the country. ;___;

So if my party wins, my friend leaves the country; if my party loses, my friend stays in the country.

Haha.. This sucks. :-/

Don't be. I'm not upset or anything; your reply to Andy's comment made me feel better, though.

While I don't support the Conservatives, I don't support the Liberals either.. It's a no-win situation for me. I'd rather not get into it on LiveJournal, but I'll explain via e-mail if you wish.

I predict a minority Conservative or minority Liberal government.

I don't necessarily like the Liberals, either, but I'd prefer them to the Conservatives. Harper's just too socially right-wing for me; anti-same-sex marriage, anti-abortion... and too pro-American/Bush/etc. Honestly, I don't really like any of the parties anymore. -_-

Now a Green victory, that'd be cool. XD They were leading in one riding for awhile... pity that didn't last.

Pretty sure it'll be minority Conservative now, based on the numbers.

And heh, seriously, I'm not actually planning to leave the country. XD I love Canada, I'm just scared that the things I love my country for will start changing.

I'm more of an NDP or Green fan myself. I usually vote for them, (randomly :p), but this time I decided to to go Conservative just because I felt my vote would have the biggest impact there, rather than going for Green or NDP, which frankly, are insignificant compared to the two Giants. I guess that's kind of going against the principles of democracy: Instead of voting for the party you support, you vote against the party you support least. :o

While I agree that some of the Conservatives' stances (that you listed above) are wrong, too; the Liberals...I can't vote for them, for reasons I don't want to talk about on LJ.

But even if it is minority Conservative, I don't think there will be any drastic changes, if any; every time there is an election each party makes their own promises and plans for the future, but they almost never get around to putting any of them into action, it seems, because their agendas are always so back-logged with other items.

I like the NDP/Green, but since I know neither have a chance in our riding I don't usually vote for them...

I hate our provincial Liberals, no question there, but I've never really associated the federal Liberals with them. The provincial Liberals are Conservatives in disguise. :/ But anyway, enough about that.. bleh, politics. *sighs*

The provincial and federal Liberals are completely different parties, yeah. There is no connection at all except for the name, and I think that each has actually publically decried the other on more than one occasion.

That's what I figured. ^^ The provincial Liberals aren't remotely, well, liberal. o.o

Objection! If you're fleeing a Conservative government, surely living in the states would be even worse?

Didn't say I'd move to the US. XD Nah, staying here... I just hope that nothing too bad happens.

I know; I was responding to [livejournal.com profile] bloody_sakura, who suggested California. ^^;
