I happened to check Rpgamer.com a few minutes ago and noticed that FFIII:DS comes out today (I haven't really been keeping track...). I'm probably just being too over-emotional, but this day feels rather historic in the RPG world - the last Final Fantasy that wasn't released in the US is finally here. I checked, and it's been approximately 16.5 years since FFIII was released in Japan - well, better late than never, I guess. XD I mean sure, I played it years ago on a translated ROM and I won't be buying this version anytime soon (lack of a DS... and lack of time to play. woe.), but it's still cool to think that it's here. It's sort of a pity that the original version of the game will never make it here, most likely (how hard would it have been to include the orignal version in the new game, really...?), but the new version looks pretty spiffy. Hopefully I'll get to play it someday.

3 FF games in the past 2 weeks, 2 of which are new to the US (FFXII and FFIII:DS) and one of which only ever made it here in a mangled fashion (FFV Advance) - makes me miss the days when I could play all the time... I haven't really been into gaming as much the last few years, largely because of a. lack of time during school, b. other interests take up my free time, and c. i'm lazy., but I still get excited hearing about games and still want to play when I get the chance. I'm way behind on all the games I'm playing, but I still plan to ask for either FFXII or Disgaea 2 for Christmas (leaning towards the latter - FFXII will be easy enough to find for years to come, and it'll get cheap fairly quickly, whereas Disgaea 2 will start disappearing soon...). I am sorely tempted by FFXII, though - it's been getting fantastic reviews, and hell, it's FFXII! We've been waiting for this game for years, and it's finally here... and I really can't justify the time or money to get it. Part of me, too, is still a bit uncertain about it - but most of the reviews have said that the game is nothing like (and much better than) anything we've seen of it to this point, including the demo. I plan to give it a chance eventually, but can't do it yet.

And... I'm procrastinating. Back to my Farscape paper... it's due tomorrow at 9, so I need to get moving. Up to 5 pages, need about 12 - and I'm still blathering on about the context, haven't even gotten to analysing the series itself! Ehehehe. baaack to work.

Yeah, true... well, we could chat I guess, but might still be boring. Though I may get to see Sara again, if you wanted to. :) But nah, I was mostly kidding; didn't think you'd want to come. ^^

Lol, sure they would... they have diff sizes, I assume, and adults play it all the time. You're not that huge, lol - just tall. If you weighed like 400 pounds there might be some problem, heh, but as it is I don't think you need to worry. ;p Anyway, guess we should have a bigger party for it, in case no one's there... just the two of us fighting each other would be kinda lame.

I dunno; I might, actually. But I'm undecided and I dunno what Cecilia thinks about me coming. 9pm is also kind of late (but I guess I'm just lame like that). Are you going for sure?

Maybe you should have your birthday party there? That way I wouldn't be able to get out of it. ;p

She probably won't mind... you guys were friends too, after all, right? :) I'll send her an email to ask, but it should be okay. And lol, I find 9pm late for going out too, cuz I'm also that lame. Heh. Never could really comprehend the concept of "going out at 10 o'clock". For me it's like, "bwah? time to get ready for bed!" heh. (by which I mean, have a bath then sit at the compter for 2 hours). But I figured it'd be fun to get out, because I do it so little these days. Need a break from sitting on my ass at my computer or dealing with people's finances. -_-

And yeah, pretty much going for sure. Unless Mom's worse tomorrow (she's feeling pretty good today, but she could crash... I did, after the first day, but otoh my surgery was much more major and probably quite a bit more dangerous, plus I was loaded up witth antibiotics). Will decide for sure tomorrow, but prob going.

Anyway, s'up to you. We don't have to stay long; just for like an hour or whatever. I didn't plan to stay super-long. And it's not dancing or anything, at least, just sitting and drinking and chatting. Hopefully not too loud so we can talk. And if Sara's there we can catch up and stuff.

Yeah I know, but it's polite to confirm first. >.>

Really. 11 pm and I'm getting ready for bed. I need my sleep. :/

But anyway I'd probably go up with you if I decide to go (bus?), but I'm still undecided. An hour might be too short, though..

I wonder how much alcohol I can tolerate.. It's been a while.

Yeah, true. :)

Lol, what happened to you going to bed at 5am? XD Well okay, not on school nights I guess, heh... When I was working at 9:30 I tried to get to bed at 11, but now that I'm starting at 11:45 I figure to hell with it and stay up to 12.

Bus, yeah. And we could stay longer than an hour, sure, I just meant that if we're bored we can leave earlier. ;)

Heh. Well, don't have a huge amount, but you can probably tolerate a bit. :) I'd stick with beer if I were you... Guiness and all, it being an Irish pub. Me, I'm a lightweight, I'll be drinking Smirnoffs or something similar. ;)

I no longer do that, even on weekends. It results in just such wasted time the following day.

I'd prefer to stay an hour; don't get me wrong, but I don't think it's worth going out at all for that amount of time.

I'd probably just start with whiskey and take it slow.

Heh, probably for the best. ;) It's not very good for your body to do that... I stay up until 2 every once in awhile, but usually I try to make 1 my limit and only on weekends.

Well, we can just get there then decide how long to stay, doens't really matter... it's easy enough to get to, anyway - 210 stops right in front of it, according to Cecilia. It's in Gastown, on Carrall street. Bout a 15-20 min bus.

I go to bed anywhere between 1 and 2 am. I wake up at 8:50 every day (without the use of an alarm clock, because I'm that awesome), so I still get like 7 hours of sleep, which is more than enough for me.

Ok, call me tomorrow evening so we can figure out how to get there if I have decided to go by then.

Heh, I can't operate on 7 hours of sleep... am like a zombie... need at least 9, really. Any less and I feel like shit.

Sure, will do.

I thought 7 hours is plenty. :o

I could function on a lot less, but that just ends up in me shutting down half-way through the day.

Heh, lucky you. :) I crash if I don't get enough sleep, ie 8-9... or at least, I'm exhausted and moody when I wake up if I have to wake up too early, no matter how early I go to bed.
