I happened to check Rpgamer.com a few minutes ago and noticed that FFIII:DS comes out today (I haven't really been keeping track...). I'm probably just being too over-emotional, but this day feels rather historic in the RPG world - the last Final Fantasy that wasn't released in the US is finally here. I checked, and it's been approximately 16.5 years since FFIII was released in Japan - well, better late than never, I guess. XD I mean sure, I played it years ago on a translated ROM and I won't be buying this version anytime soon (lack of a DS... and lack of time to play. woe.), but it's still cool to think that it's here. It's sort of a pity that the original version of the game will never make it here, most likely (how hard would it have been to include the orignal version in the new game, really...?), but the new version looks pretty spiffy. Hopefully I'll get to play it someday.

3 FF games in the past 2 weeks, 2 of which are new to the US (FFXII and FFIII:DS) and one of which only ever made it here in a mangled fashion (FFV Advance) - makes me miss the days when I could play all the time... I haven't really been into gaming as much the last few years, largely because of a. lack of time during school, b. other interests take up my free time, and c. i'm lazy., but I still get excited hearing about games and still want to play when I get the chance. I'm way behind on all the games I'm playing, but I still plan to ask for either FFXII or Disgaea 2 for Christmas (leaning towards the latter - FFXII will be easy enough to find for years to come, and it'll get cheap fairly quickly, whereas Disgaea 2 will start disappearing soon...). I am sorely tempted by FFXII, though - it's been getting fantastic reviews, and hell, it's FFXII! We've been waiting for this game for years, and it's finally here... and I really can't justify the time or money to get it. Part of me, too, is still a bit uncertain about it - but most of the reviews have said that the game is nothing like (and much better than) anything we've seen of it to this point, including the demo. I plan to give it a chance eventually, but can't do it yet.

And... I'm procrastinating. Back to my Farscape paper... it's due tomorrow at 9, so I need to get moving. Up to 5 pages, need about 12 - and I'm still blathering on about the context, haven't even gotten to analysing the series itself! Ehehehe. baaack to work.

Yeah... damn, almost over. :( Stand-alone, but entertaining enough... hopefully next week or soon we'll get a good strong arc ep. We're heading into sweeps soon, so...

*whimpersniff* Sammy... :( But ooh, killing that demon, so quick and cold. Lovin' it.

Shit, no wonder that was short. Interesting ending. Good thing she didn't say "My boss is Lucifer" *rolls eyes*.

We haven't had a stand-alone episode yet this season, so I won't be peeved if next week's is stand-alone too.

Sam is really mean now. :o

Oh god, I was worried about that, too. o.o I wonder who the boss demon is, then? I mean, we have a canonical hell, so who runs hell? Clearly someone does, but is it actually Lucifer or Satan or whoever? Or just a big bad demon? I'm a bit worried about where they'll go with this, though I suppose they're some potential there... they opened the door for this, so we'll have to see where it goes.

Yeah, true, most of the eps have been at least partially arc-driven. So a few stand-alones is okay...

Lol, yeah, Sammy's fucking hardcore. It's kinda hot. *cough*

Lucifer is Satan. But anyway, I really hope not. But I think the big bad is going to be tied to the Yellow-Eyed Demon somehow, since apparently his storyline isn't completely finished (all of Mary's friends dying, etc). There are other high-ranking demons in mythology that they could use; I can't really imagine them taking on Satan, that would just be so unrealistic (for this show, even).

Haha.. The actress who played the Crossroads Demon in this episode is Jared's girlfriend.

I know, I was just naming examples of different names he has. :) But yeah, I agree, it will likely have something to do with the YED and the demon heirarchy going on there. It'll be interesting to explore that, so long as they don't bring in Lucifer... that would be ridiculous.

Heh, I heard that. My main thought to that was, "fuck, he's taken??"

Regardless of what I said, I'm not going to immediately send them anthrax mail bombs if they bring in Lucifer. I'd prefer them not to, but I'll remain open-minded about it for now, and see how they pull it off should they tread those waters.

Jared looks a lot older than he really is, too, for some reason.

*gigglesnort* I didn't think you would. XD XD And yeah, it'd depend on how they did it; the writers are good enough that it might be okay...

Yeah, he's only 23 or 24 I believe. And he lives in Vancouver most of the year. Hence, eligible bachelor to me. XD Except evidently taken. Woe.

25 according to his wiki page. He looks to be 30-ish though. Jensen is 29, but he definitely looks his age.

I didn't know he lived in Vancouver most of the time. Look him up in the phone book?

Is he 25 now? Huh. Still, good age for me. XD He does look older though, it's true.

Well, I assume he lives here a good chunk of the year anyway, at least whenever they're filming...

Well who wouldn't want to live in Vancouver? We've got enough grey, and rain, and crazies who'll prick you with an AIDs needle on every street corner, for everyone to share.

Lol, true. But it's a beautiful city, downtown excluded, and I love the mountains. Best climate in Canada, too, in spite of the rain. Having lived in Ontario for a year, I've gotta say that coming back to Vancouver was damned nice. I missed the mountains and the ocean and the trees... too fucking flat and brown in Ontario, I wasn't impressed. Too cold, too. Though it was bright in the winter, instead of grey, which was nice. Anyway though, gotta say there's no other city in Canada I'd want to live in. :) And I sure as fuck dont' want to live in the US. Generally planning on sticking it out here for the rest of my life, and happy for it...

Me too. I hope I won't have to leave. While living somewhere exotic would be interesting and fun, if I had to pick a city in North America to live in, it would be this one.

The only thing I don't like, however, is our architecture. Sure, we have some buildings of historical merit, and that's fine and all, but everything else just feels so retro and aesthetically old, especially when you compare our Down Town, to say, Dubai or Taiwan, who are now getting to utilize our current technological advances in architecture and engineering to grow. I guess that's what we get for being one of the early First World countries.

Yeah. No where else in Canada is as nice, that's for sure... Toronto's kinda cool, and downtown is somewhat more exciting and urban, but it's pretty blah otherwise. Too cold, too. And too hot in summer.

Heh, yeah, architechturally it's not the most exciting place in the world. Though I'd complain more about the new stuff than the older buildings - all those really ugly high rises and apartments that are popping up everywhere. But it's also true that there's some pretty uninteresting older stuff. Some nice stuff from say the 50s, modernist stuff and all, like what my grandfather did, but also a fair number of either pretty old dilapidated buildings or icky stuff from the 70s. Like at UBC. Horrid architecture there, a lot of it. Main Library and the Chem building are nice, cuz they're really old, but Buchanan Tower from the 70s? Ugly as fuck. The new Forestry building is quite nice, though. :) Anyway, some interesting and attractive newer architecture would be nice, though. It'd be nice to have downtown be sleeker and more urban, like downtown NY/Tokyo/even Toronto. As it is, there's a lot of broken down old buildings and some hideously ugly new ones.

And whoa, some of the stuff in those pictures are trippy. :) Especially those towers in Dubai. Very futuristic looking.
