I happened to check Rpgamer.com a few minutes ago and noticed that FFIII:DS comes out today (I haven't really been keeping track...). I'm probably just being too over-emotional, but this day feels rather historic in the RPG world - the last Final Fantasy that wasn't released in the US is finally here. I checked, and it's been approximately 16.5 years since FFIII was released in Japan - well, better late than never, I guess. XD I mean sure, I played it years ago on a translated ROM and I won't be buying this version anytime soon (lack of a DS... and lack of time to play. woe.), but it's still cool to think that it's here. It's sort of a pity that the original version of the game will never make it here, most likely (how hard would it have been to include the orignal version in the new game, really...?), but the new version looks pretty spiffy. Hopefully I'll get to play it someday.

3 FF games in the past 2 weeks, 2 of which are new to the US (FFXII and FFIII:DS) and one of which only ever made it here in a mangled fashion (FFV Advance) - makes me miss the days when I could play all the time... I haven't really been into gaming as much the last few years, largely because of a. lack of time during school, b. other interests take up my free time, and c. i'm lazy., but I still get excited hearing about games and still want to play when I get the chance. I'm way behind on all the games I'm playing, but I still plan to ask for either FFXII or Disgaea 2 for Christmas (leaning towards the latter - FFXII will be easy enough to find for years to come, and it'll get cheap fairly quickly, whereas Disgaea 2 will start disappearing soon...). I am sorely tempted by FFXII, though - it's been getting fantastic reviews, and hell, it's FFXII! We've been waiting for this game for years, and it's finally here... and I really can't justify the time or money to get it. Part of me, too, is still a bit uncertain about it - but most of the reviews have said that the game is nothing like (and much better than) anything we've seen of it to this point, including the demo. I plan to give it a chance eventually, but can't do it yet.

And... I'm procrastinating. Back to my Farscape paper... it's due tomorrow at 9, so I need to get moving. Up to 5 pages, need about 12 - and I'm still blathering on about the context, haven't even gotten to analysing the series itself! Ehehehe. baaack to work.

Yeah, Bela is prettier.

Also, Sam's reaction upon hearing Gordon's name.

Agreed. Ruby's pretty enough, but her face kinda bugged me... Bela is hot as hell, however.

*iz shallow*

Dude, creepy Jesus hunter guy is indeed creepy. And annoying. "He is the adversary. God told me."

Aww, it's over. *pout*

The Butter Shave. Yeah, it's pretty entertaining. There's a humorous George montage at one point.

Next one is The Race, not one of the better ones.

Or... not. Tapes suck. -__- Off to download GA and watch The Office, I guess. And I still say you should be watching that show. :)

What torrent site do you use to find TV episodes? Could come in handy..

From: [identity profile] ria-oaks.livejournal.com
I rarely use torrents now, but when I do I use mininova.org or isohunt.com (searches a bunch of torrent sites).

That said, there are other ways for downloading that I much prefer now... can't talk about them in unlocked posts, however - it's all hush hush on LJ. XD I can send you an email if you're interested. You might have to make your journal a bit more active, though, just post once a month or something, in order to be accepted into these places. And that's all I'll say in an open post because I'm paranoid. *zips lips*

ooh lookie i made a rhyme

I use IRC for all of my needs, mainly. Something about having my IP displayed in the Peers List for all to see when using a torrent just doesn't settle well with me..

I think I know what you use, now. :p

I liked how Dean was going on with those Scratch & Win tickets (then Bela stealing them).

I love how this show can manage to be so serious and humorous at the same time.

Haha, yes, the scratch and win tickets were awesome, as was Bela stealing.

Def agreed on the combination of serious and humour; it's one of the best parts of the show... imo, some of the best, if not all of the best, shows (drama shows, anyway) are the ones that combine humour and drama effectively. Joss shows, Farscape, even Oz - never expected THAT when I first watched it, but it really does.

I like Bela more than Ruby now. She's not such a Barbie. But I think Ruby is still more interesting, given that she's a demon and all.

I like Bela more, too... I think she's a better actress, as well. Though I suppose that Ruby is more interesting in terms of what she brings to the mythology... still, enjoying Bela more I think.

I'm so glad that we've had two good episodes in a row. The first episode got my hopes down.. Now if only Prison Break could make a recovery; then all three of my shows will be awesome.

Word on that. Ep1 was iffy, but 2 and 3 have been great.

Saw a preview for PB and am vaguely excited again... but I'm worried that last ep killed much of the rest of my love for the show. *sob*

I've kind of gotten over it; I've had favorite characters die before. It's just a tragedy for the show, that she couldn't have gone out in a way that did justice and gave respect to her character. She should have had a meaningful exit.

Now I just hope that they give the plot some more drama, suspense, and forward momentum. It's been pretty stagnant so far.

Yeah, I dunno... I was already rather disenfranchised with the season, and that just cemented my disappointment. I could have maybe dealt with her dying if it hadn't been so quick and if we had seen her this season. Anyway, I respect SWC's wishes, but it's really too bad... plus she was one of my favourite characters, not to mention the only good female character on the show. Though Sofia seems to be stepping up right now.

Maybe it'll pick up once they're out of Sona... hopefully that'll be pretty soon.
