I happened to check Rpgamer.com a few minutes ago and noticed that FFIII:DS comes out today (I haven't really been keeping track...). I'm probably just being too over-emotional, but this day feels rather historic in the RPG world - the last Final Fantasy that wasn't released in the US is finally here. I checked, and it's been approximately 16.5 years since FFIII was released in Japan - well, better late than never, I guess. XD I mean sure, I played it years ago on a translated ROM and I won't be buying this version anytime soon (lack of a DS... and lack of time to play. woe.), but it's still cool to think that it's here. It's sort of a pity that the original version of the game will never make it here, most likely (how hard would it have been to include the orignal version in the new game, really...?), but the new version looks pretty spiffy. Hopefully I'll get to play it someday.

3 FF games in the past 2 weeks, 2 of which are new to the US (FFXII and FFIII:DS) and one of which only ever made it here in a mangled fashion (FFV Advance) - makes me miss the days when I could play all the time... I haven't really been into gaming as much the last few years, largely because of a. lack of time during school, b. other interests take up my free time, and c. i'm lazy., but I still get excited hearing about games and still want to play when I get the chance. I'm way behind on all the games I'm playing, but I still plan to ask for either FFXII or Disgaea 2 for Christmas (leaning towards the latter - FFXII will be easy enough to find for years to come, and it'll get cheap fairly quickly, whereas Disgaea 2 will start disappearing soon...). I am sorely tempted by FFXII, though - it's been getting fantastic reviews, and hell, it's FFXII! We've been waiting for this game for years, and it's finally here... and I really can't justify the time or money to get it. Part of me, too, is still a bit uncertain about it - but most of the reviews have said that the game is nothing like (and much better than) anything we've seen of it to this point, including the demo. I plan to give it a chance eventually, but can't do it yet.

And... I'm procrastinating. Back to my Farscape paper... it's due tomorrow at 9, so I need to get moving. Up to 5 pages, need about 12 - and I'm still blathering on about the context, haven't even gotten to analysing the series itself! Ehehehe. baaack to work.

Spoilers if you haven't been watching, but I assume you are... 9:30 right now, on commercial.

Zomg creepy kids. o.o Also, mini!Dean. So cute. <3 And hee on Dean teaching the kid to beat up bullies... bad Dean, that's not good advice. Heh. But amusing. And god that kid is adorable and he looks exactly like Jensen. Probably isn't actually his, but otoh Dean's slept around enough that I wouldn't be surprised to find out that he's got at least one kid somewhere in America, lol.

But that girl is creepy yo. Still, bad on her mother for trying to drown her, christ.

Enjoying this episode so far. Fairly light-hearted yet also creepy, good ol' SPN.

Commercial's over! *runs back to TV*

No, mini!Dean's been taken! :( Poor mini!Dean.

Frankly enjoying this episode more than last week's... last week tried to be serious and kinda failed, and this episode is a nice mixture of humour and creepiness. I dunno, it's entertaining, anyway. And mini!Dean is freaking adorable.

Hah, yeah, I'm watching. It's quite an entertaining episode. Though I'm guessing Ben is going to turn out to really be Dean's son, and that realization is going to change Dean's mind about staying alive.

Ruby also seems to be interesting. She's like, an asshole, which is fucking awesome. I hope they won't make her all weak and shit later. I'm guessing her dagger is also crafted by Bela, who I read, is a weaponsmith..

Speaking of Ruby, I hohpe she won't DEM in thi scene.

Dude, mini!Dean is a big damned hero! He ran around helping all the kids then gave his coat up to help them and then lead them all out... I love this kid. ;_; Not sure if I'd want him to be Dean's son, though - kinda a soap opera twist... plus how would it change the show? What would Dean do? He's not the kind of guy that would just leave the kid or his mom; at the very least he's send them money and help them out. But it's hard to see what he'd do about hunting; he's always on the move, but would he give that up and settle down for the sake of his son? Would he train his son to be a hunter as well, knowing what John's upbringing did to hiim and Sam?

Still don't know about Ruby. I kinda liked her, but then she sorta annoyed me. We'll see. I want to see some genuine flaws and humanity in her; right now she's just the kinda bitchy yet perky blond really good fighter.

Huh.. Wonder if she was lying about Ben.

Ruby just got a little more interesting. Angry Sam is awesome. I wonder if she was refering to that moment when the yellow-eyed demon had Sam drink his blood when he was little. That was just one scene that was so overlooked..

Maybe. But I dont think so... as I said, it'd be a bit much.

Kid was still adorable though.

Ooh yes, the blood drinking... definitely intriguing, I think will definitely play a part this season. And oh yes, angry!Sam is wonderful. Go Jared, emote! ;)

I wonder if Angry Sam was a small demonstration of that "not-completely Sam" thing that the demon referred to.

I don't think we've ever seen him snap at another person like that (Dean aside).

Believe it or not
George isn't at home
Please leave a message at the beep
I must be out or I'd pick up the phone
Where could I be?
Believe it or not, I'm not home~

Maybe... but we've seen Sam get angry before, maybe never to that extent but I think it's definitely there inside of him. He's carrying a lot of baggage this season, and between Dean's deal and his own question over what he is and what his 'destiny' is, I'm not surprised that he's lashing out.

Ahahaha. That one always makes me laugh. ;)

Incidently, we passed 800 awhile back. Go us!

What I really liked about Ruby being a demon is that if we see more of her, we might actually have a new dimension to add to the demon archetype other than "rar, we don't like humans." Especially if she doesn't DEM-all over the place, and actually has some faults and humanity/compassion, like you said. I hope it's not really Meg though.. I'm tired of Meg. >.>

Plus, if Dean ever finds out, it'll conflict with his entire black-and-white view of the whole thing.

Overall I thought that was a great episode. It had some funny parts, it had some emotion (Dean bottling up his feelings; Sam getting frustrated and angry), and it dropped some mythology hints. The kids were creepy too, but I don't watch the show for the horror, nor does it really scare me. The only downside is that there was no Bobby, but maybe that's for the better, as too much might make him less awesome. :o

Made up for last week completely.

800? Feels like we did more. I'm not really following it, but I'm sure we'll make it within a month if we regularly (or semi-regularly) post in this thread.

Ahh.. This is a great Seinfeld episode.

Yeah, I think it'll definitely both make her more interesting and add some dimension to the show's treatment of demons... they've hinted on it before, but they still tend to assume that demon=bad. Similar dilemma as the one on Buffy and Angel, but so far it's been dealt with in a somewhat more b&w and simplistic way. It'd be neat to see that change.

Totally agree... though I'm wimpy enough that I was a bit freaked out a few times. ;P SPN doesn't generally scare me much, though, it's just a vague feeling of creepiness and trepidation. Anyway, it was a nice solid episode with a nice mixture of different elements. Much better and more classic SPN than last episode.

Well, over 820 now at least. It was 815 awhile ago.

What episode/station? 14?

Yeah, I think that's the only channel with it on right now. XD Caught the tail end of the ep; I remember that one kinda... pretty funny.

Guess not, then. Rather glad; it would have been a bit much for Dean to have a son. Save that for the daytime soaps. ;)

But dude! Suddenly I am a lot more interested in Ruby. She still kinda irks me a bit, but she's more intriguing. Definitely didn't see that twist coming, and glad I wasn't spoiled for it. And oh, Sammy! You're the boy king AND the anti-Christ! I love you.

Very intrigued about this whole thing with their mother - as we predicted, the past generation will definitely play an important part this season.

And dude, I actually cried a bit at the end. ;__; Oh Dean, never going to get to have a real life or settle down with a woman and have kids and a normal life... they were doomed to never have a normal life as it was, and now he knows that he'll never have any life at all, just one final year. I was glad to see him really showing some sadness and regret about that.
