I happened to check Rpgamer.com a few minutes ago and noticed that FFIII:DS comes out today (I haven't really been keeping track...). I'm probably just being too over-emotional, but this day feels rather historic in the RPG world - the last Final Fantasy that wasn't released in the US is finally here. I checked, and it's been approximately 16.5 years since FFIII was released in Japan - well, better late than never, I guess. XD I mean sure, I played it years ago on a translated ROM and I won't be buying this version anytime soon (lack of a DS... and lack of time to play. woe.), but it's still cool to think that it's here. It's sort of a pity that the original version of the game will never make it here, most likely (how hard would it have been to include the orignal version in the new game, really...?), but the new version looks pretty spiffy. Hopefully I'll get to play it someday.

3 FF games in the past 2 weeks, 2 of which are new to the US (FFXII and FFIII:DS) and one of which only ever made it here in a mangled fashion (FFV Advance) - makes me miss the days when I could play all the time... I haven't really been into gaming as much the last few years, largely because of a. lack of time during school, b. other interests take up my free time, and c. i'm lazy., but I still get excited hearing about games and still want to play when I get the chance. I'm way behind on all the games I'm playing, but I still plan to ask for either FFXII or Disgaea 2 for Christmas (leaning towards the latter - FFXII will be easy enough to find for years to come, and it'll get cheap fairly quickly, whereas Disgaea 2 will start disappearing soon...). I am sorely tempted by FFXII, though - it's been getting fantastic reviews, and hell, it's FFXII! We've been waiting for this game for years, and it's finally here... and I really can't justify the time or money to get it. Part of me, too, is still a bit uncertain about it - but most of the reviews have said that the game is nothing like (and much better than) anything we've seen of it to this point, including the demo. I plan to give it a chance eventually, but can't do it yet.

And... I'm procrastinating. Back to my Farscape paper... it's due tomorrow at 9, so I need to get moving. Up to 5 pages, need about 12 - and I'm still blathering on about the context, haven't even gotten to analysing the series itself! Ehehehe. baaack to work.

Heh, I just find it hilarious that there's now a canon explanation given the fan reaction to that scene... I think they added that in out of recognition of how silly that was. ^^

Yeah, I saw that too, but what I don't get is why they're only now talking about it... I've seen the Spike Puppet on eBay (I occasionally check to see how much puppet!Angel's worth...) and various other online stores for monthes now. Heh. Anyway, I find it fairly ridiculous that they're making a doll of something that was never actually on the show. ^^

True that Sunday TV sucks (although I've managed to find some Friends and Seinfeld), but a lot of what I've been watching is stuff on my computer that I actually like. And I'm still bored. o.o Though partly it's the fact that even watching TV takes some effort and I feel too shitty to enjoy it completely. ^^ And I don't feel up to drawing while I watch, which I often like to do. Wah.

No, on Jan. 22nd. Did you see my post about it the other day? Considering that you replied to it. XD

The only good thing that was on Sundays was Eureka, but that won't be back until the Summer. But I did watch 'Zero Effect' today, which is a great movie. Now I'm..working. So awesome.

When was the recap and was there any new material in it? I had no idea that there would be one since I pretty much stopped watching FOX when the show went on break.

Weekends in general suck for TV, even for brainless sitcom watching... fortunately I've had Doctor Who to keep me entertained. But with only 13 episodes per season, and me already 4 eps into s2 with 2 monthes to go before s3.... trying to stretch them out a bit. Haha, yeah right. -_-

It was evidentally on yesterday on 4, but not here for some reason (I accidentally had my N Van postal code in zap2it.com and saw it on that schedule). Doubt it would've been interesting; just a recap of the season thus far. Originally I'd heard that they were doing one on the 22nd then having a new ep on the 29th, but guess things changed.

Nope, finally started feeling better today. :) Got a lot better overnight, suddenly. Celebrated by studying for awhile then playing FFXII for 2 hours. XD

Hehe. Good. I haven't played FFXII since school started. I keep meaning to, but I don't because I know I'll get that damn guilty feeling that you get when you know that you should be studying instead. How far are you? Do you like it so far?

Well, I figure there isn't much guilt in the first few weeks since the workload is still low. No readings last week, and partway through this week's readings. Not too worried, so lots of free time. :)

I just got Ashe in my party. I'm enjoying it so far; really not that far in. Battle system is fun, story is okay but not spectacular.

About to make another post... in a few min.

I'm still trying to keep up so I don't fall behind later. :/

I thought you were farther than that.. I guess I got my sequence of events mixed up. I thought the Lhusu Mines were farther ahead..

I'm trying to keep up, too. Want to finish this week's readings by Friday then start on next week's.

I meant the second time you get Ashe, when she actually joins your party properly. The first time (in the dungeons, I think) she's just a guest. I did the Lhusu Mines, then the Leviathan stuff where we rescued her, then she joins the party. That's where I stopped. I think I'm ~10-11 hours in so far, at level 13 or 14 for Vaan.

*checks walkthrough* Sounds like a pain to get, but worth it... I'll have to do some power levelling and stuff (and learn some quickenings...) so I can defeat that boss to get it. Shiny.

Yeah that boss is hard mainly because it's timed. But just get like 2 Quickenings for everyone and you should be able to pull off a decent sized Quickening chain.. You'll enjoy the MP boost anyway.
