jeigh... remarkably accurate, for the most part, though there are a couple of things that I'd disagree with (I think I have a stronger interest in the arts than they say, and I'm more cautious than it says...) Other than that, though, it's pretty true.
My Personality
You are introverted, reserved, and quiet with a preference for solitude
and solitary activities. Your socializing tends to be restricted to a
few close friends. You can be very easily upset, even by what most
people consider the normal demands of living. People consider you to be
extremely sensitive and emotional. Novelty, variety, and change spice
up your life and make you a curious, imaginative, and creative person.
You have a strong interest in others' needs and well-being. You are
pleasant, sympathetic, and cooperative. You like to live for the moment
and do what feels good now. Your work tends to be careless and
disorganized.
Neuroticism:
You are generally calm, although some situations can make you feel
anxious or tense. You feel enraged when things do not go your way. You
are sensitive about being treated fairly and feel resentful and bitter
if you think you are being cheated. Mostly your emotions are on an even
keel and you do not get depressed easily. You are not generally self
conscious about yourself. You feel strong cravings and urges that you
have difficulty resisting. You tend to prefer short-term pleasures and
rewards over long-term consequences. You experience panic, confusion,
and helplessness when under pressure or stress.
Extraversion:
People generally perceive you as distant and reserved, and you do not
usually reach out to others. You tend to feel overwhelmed by, and
therefore actively avoid, large crowds. You often need privacy and time
for yourself. You are an active group participant but usually prefer to
let someone else be the group leader. You lead a leisurely and relaxed
life. You would prefer to sit back and smell the roses than indulge in
high energy activities. You get overwhelmed by too much noise and
commotion and do not like thrill-seeking activities. You have a
generally cheerful disposition.
Openness to Experience:
You are a moderately imaginative person who enjoys a good balance
between the real world and fantasy. You are reasonably interested in
the arts but are not totally absorbed by them. You have good access to
and awareness of your own feelings. Familiar routines are good, but
sometimes you like to spice up your life with a bit of adventure or
activity. You enjoy a certain amount of debate or intellectual thought,
but sometimes get bored with too much. Often you exhibit a readiness to
challenge authority, convention, and traditional values. Sometimes you
feel a certain degree of hostility toward rules and perhaps even enjoy
ambiguity.
Agreeableness:
You naturally assume that most people are fair, honest, and have good
intentions. There are times when you believe that a certain amount of
deception in social relationships is necessary, however you are mostly
candid, frank and sincere. People find it moderately easy to relate to
you. You will help others if they are in need. If people ask for too
much of your time you feel that they are imposing on you. You do not
enjoy confrontation, but you will stand up for yourself or push your
point if you feel it is important. You are willing to take credit for
good things that you do but you don't often talk yourself up much. You
are tenderhearted and compassionate, feeling the pain of others
vicariously and are easily moved to pity.
Conscientiousness:
You are moderately confident that you can achieve the goals you set
yourself. You are a reasonably organized person and like to have a
certain amount of routine in your life. Your sense of duty and
obligation is average and although you are mostly responsible you can
sometimes be unreliable. You are content to get by with a minimal
amount of work, and might be seen by others as lazy. You have a
reasonable amount of will-power and are able to follow through on tasks
that you feel you need to complete. You can be distracted however and
have been known to procrastinate. You are not an overly cautious
person. You will think about alternatives and consequences but make up
your mind fairly quickly.
Anyway, I'm still feeling kinda woozy from last night... probably shouldn't have gotten drunk for the first time on a school night, and especially not by doing Tequila shots. o.o Hardly slept, and was nauseous and woozy all day... though surprisingly didn't have a pounding headache - can I classify it as a hangover if I don't have a headache? ^^; I dunno, but either way I haven't felt very good today. Ended up having to ditch my seminar at 10am because I just couldn't make it, which really really sucks because I was looking forward to it - it was the TV Studies seminar on 'Gay/Lesbian representations in TV'. The one seminar I've been looking forward to all term, aside from the Lost one I'm doing next week. ;__; Dammit. Oh well, someone probably would have said something that would've pissed me off anyway and then I'd be all moody. XD I'm still pretty disappointed, though. Oh well, it's my own damned fault. ^^;
In between bouts of feeling like shit, I've been thinking heavily about my Farscape paper... We were learning about feminist psychoanalysis and shit in popular cinema today (all that crap about the 'male gaze' and 'passive female sexual objects', blah blah blah), and it got me thinking about gender roles in Farscape. It seems to me that the most common way to refute the 'male gaze/spectatorship' theories is by giving females 'masculine' roles amd males 'feminine' roles, which frankly to me just seems to maintain essentialist gender roles because it still assumes the existence of masculinity and femininity. Or, more to the point, it seems to assume that women can only be strong by being 'masculinized' and somehow giving up any kind of femininity. All of which seems... problematic to me. And I think Farscape addresses this problem by having strong female characters who have both 'masculine' and 'feminine' characteristics which are valued. Aeryn is strong and warrior-like, but she also becomes something of a mother figure by the end of the series, and becomes both loving and nurturing. But without giving up her inherent strength and warrior attributes (which I think is best shown in PK Wars, during the final fight sequence). Both her and John take on alternatively 'masculine' and 'feminine' characteristics and roles, and arguably both end up stronger as a result. After all, he's the one who begins by teaching her compassion and mercy ("You can be more"), while she teaches him to fight. And... I have more vague thoughts on this, but I'm not sure where they're going yet. I'm definitely starting to consider concentrating my paper on gender/sexuality, though - for one thing, I now have 2 books on women in sci-fi TV series which both have a chapter on Farscape (yay!). It's a common topic, I'll grant, but still a generally interesting one... especially in Farscape, which complicates and problematizes traditional gender roles and sexuality in some new ways, I would argue.
Crap, I'm tired. And still kinda feeling blah. I hope this goes away soon. -_- It kinda feels similar to the flu, but I'm quite sure that it's just the after-effects of last night, not any kind of actual sickness. ^^; Either way, don't think I'll do much tonight... this weekend, though, I really need to do some proper work. I'm way behind in my readings, and term papers are creeping up very quickly. And I keep changing my essay topics... sigh.

Date: 2006-11-04 12:52 am (UTC)I think the classic cures for hangovers are drinking..more, or drinking milk. Yeah. Gross. :| I just sleep it off, but I rarely have heavy hangovers.
Is there any way you could chat with your instructor; like I mean have a little personal lecture or tutorial on the subject? Just say that you've been looking forward to it all semester, and say that you couldn't make it because you were feeling "sick".
How many tequila shots did you have in total, anyway?

Date: 2006-11-04 01:18 am (UTC)Heh, I actually went on Wikipedia this morning to see what it says about hangovers. XD It's funny how even though I've heard about the symptoms of drinking and being hungover so much, but actually experiencing them is different and I wanted to read some actual info on it... ^^; The drinking more scenario can help, I guess, but just the thought of alcohol made me feel ill this morning. Still does, actuallly. o.o Best way is to drink lots of water before you go to bed, and between drinks... better to prevent/lessen it beforehand, because I dont' think there's much to help it after.
Nah, we already had the lecture on it. I was just lookign forward to the seminar, since that's when one or two students present on the subject and we discuss it. I was interested in what they'd say, and whether or not they'd bring other shows in as examples. And I was looking forward to the discussion - least I would've been able to participate, for once. ^^;; Oh well...
Umm, only 3, I think. And a fairly large glass of lemonade mixed with vodka (not sure how much of each..) It's not a huge amount, overall, but considering that I've rarely drunk much in the past it was a fair amount. And it was 40% alcohol, after all. Ugh...
