There's a play on at the Vancouver Playhouse this month called "Trying", and it stars Thea Gill (Lindsay from Queer as Folk). It's on until the 30th, and I'm hoping to go at some point, probably in the few days between when I finish my exams and when I leave for NY (26th-29th). The 26th is 'talkback' night, when there's a Q&A session with the actors at the end - considering that I'm going for Thea Gill, I figure that'd be pretty nifty. Granted, she's never been one of my favourite characters or actresses on QaF, but I like her well enough and it would still be pretty cool. ^_^ I'm hoping to get her autograph, if it's possible. I finish my last exam on the 26th at 2:30, so I could go that night (it's at 8). Is anyone interested in going?
Here's the main page for it: http://www.vancouverplayhouse.com/currentseason/0405_trying.php There's a review of it in the Vancouver Sun; I haven't read it, but my grandmother has a copy of the issue (yesterday's). She read out parts from it, and they gave it a very good review. I'm going to see if I can nab a copy of the issue at some point and read it myself - I can't read it online without being a subscriber.
So, anyone want to go? I'm not sure which day I'm going - I'd kinda like to go on the 26th, though, to have a chance to talk to her and maaybe get her autograph. Student price is pretty cheap - if I buy the ticket in person it's only $16 (I think it's ~$23 otherwise for a student).
I'm still very bitter about not getting to see the play in New York with Vincent Kartheisar in it ("Slag Heap"), but this will make up for that in part... Though I'm so jealous right now - some Buffy/Angel fans who's LJs I read got to go the other night and they met him and got his autograph. *cries* I can't believe the only nights that we're free in NY are the only nights that the play isn't on. ^^;; And I can't get out of our plans for the other 2 nights, even though I'm frankly not that interested in either of them and I never had any say in those plans... meh.
