No class this morning since my English teacher cancelled it (she's away and she didn't want to get someone else in to do it), but I still woke up ~9 out of habit. ^^;; ~12 my grandparents and my uncle (who came out Tuesday for the funeral, etc) came and picked me up. G&G hadn't seen my room yet this year so that was nice, and it was great seeing my uncle again since I only see him once every year or so (b/c he lives out in Halifax). We went out to QE Park to have lunch, and were supposed to get to the cemetary for the service at 3. Unfortunately, when I called home to tell my parents to bring the camera (they were supposed to meet us at the cemetary at ~3), it turned out that they were basically stuck on the North Shore because the Second Narrows Bridge was shut down. Not sure if you all heard about this - evidently someone was trying to jump off, so the police were there and traffic was completely stopped from 9am. Even the people on the bridge couldn't get off - they were stuck on there for hours. We were listening on the radio about how they were having to bring on portable toilets. ^^;; Poor guys. And of course that meant that the Lions' Gate Bridge was totally backed up, and it'd take at least an hour to get across, most likely.

So Dad's freaking out (as always), Mom doesn't know what to do, Grandma's just like "they don't have to come, you know..." and I'm like "duh people, Seabus." Which Dad's still freaking out about because he never takes public transit, and I'm like "*eyeroll* It's in Burnaby. Drive to the Seabus, then take the Skytrain straight from Waterfront to Burnaby and we'll pick you up at Patterson Station, which is, like, 5 minutes from the cemetary." Finally convinced them to do that; Dad was still freaking out thinking that traffic in North Van would be blocked up (which granted was pretty likely), but evidently they managed to get to the Seabus easily and it was deserted - guess everyone decided not to risk it. Heh. So eventually it all worked out and we got to the cemetary, met up with my parents and my mom's cousin and his wife, then drove out to the plot. The service was very, very short - less than 10 minutes. The minister spoke briefly, my uncle put in the ashes (in an ugly, plastic container. -_- Yet I think that cost, like, $200 or something. ^^;;), and a guy came and filled it up with soil. She's buried next to her husband, who died 20+ years ago - she bought the plot years ago. She had everything worked out perfectly already. *grin*

Afterwards we went to dinner at the Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, which my grandparents have had a membership at for years (like, back when it only cost a few hundred dollars or something to join. Now it's, like, $10 000+ I think...). We eat there quite often - for birthdays and other occasions. And it was Grandpa's birthday yesterday, so we had two reasons to go. We got there ridiculously early - we had originally booked for 6, but it was only 4 when we got there. ^^ But it didn't matter; we had our own private room (first time ever - usually we're out in the main dining area), so we just went straight in and sat around chatting and drinking tea until 5:30 or so. Mom brought out my nice clothes since that place is v. fancy and they got mad once when I came in wearing running shoes, jeans, and a t-shirt. Heh. Though my jacket is too small now, so it was tight and uncomfortable and I ended up constantly taking it on and off as I was either uncomfortable in it or getting cold without it. -_- We were there until 8, but it was enjoyable for the most part. It was great getting to talk to my uncle again, and I like seeing Mom's cousin and his wife. They have a son who's in 4th year at SFU in computer sciences, but he couldn't make it, I guess. But I got kinda bored towards the end and my jacket really was v. v. uncomfortable. ^^;;

Glad to be back now... and in jeans and a sweater again. -_- Saturday's the memorial, which will be in the church and will be longer. Granny didn't want any eulogies, but Mom's reading out something that she's writing based on a biography that Granny wrote 10 years ago - it's pretty amusing; Grandma brought it out last week so I got to read some of it. Not exactly looking forward to it; I know I'm going to want to cry, but I don't like to do so with everyone else around. Oh well...

So, tomorrow's TKD grad... eek. I need to practice some more tonight, since I won't have much (any) time tomorrow to do so. Just need to practice my weapons. I bought a second Bahng Mahng Ee (short staff, and I probably spelled it wrong) last class so now I can practice it properly... I'm busing home after class at ~3, and hopefully my parents can give me a ride on the way to Dad's opening, ~6:30, maybe a bit before. So I might see you test, [livejournal.com profile] bk635. ;P Not sure how I'll get home - either bus or find someone there to give me a ride. I figure that Cody'll probably be there so I could get a ride with him... which would be v. v. weird, but least I know him and he lives just down the street.

Right now... shit, I should really study - so far behind in Soci and Anth readings. And I have stuff for English to read for next week. Oh, and shit - the Astro homework. O.O Meeeeeh. Don't want to do anything. ^^;;

*looks at clock* Why is it that it seems to constantly be 9:11 when I look at the clock? I guess it's just one of those weird things that you start paying attention to after a number takes on a certain meaning. ^^ Ever since 9/11 I keep noticing that time, and it seems to continually pop up... heh. Okay, total randomness.

Meh, if the lounge is free at 10 I might watch Angel and practice my weapons... but I hate tonight's ep, 3.22 "Tomorrow". ;_; Other than the Wes/Lilah scenes, I spend most of the ep yelling at the screen "Omg, Cordy, wtf??? Omg stop being St. Cordy and why the hell are you suddenly in love with Angel?? And oh god, now you're all white and shiny and floating...." Though Connor sinking Angel always creeps me out. ^^ Can't wait until Monday; s4 premiere "Deep Down", which is one of my all-time favourite eps. Nothing beats out Wes cutting open his own arm and feeding Angel. Nothing. At. All. Even Puppet Angel doesn't beat that.

And heh, that reminds me - watched the newest Smallville ep this morning, which is the first ep written by Steven DeKnight (who wrote "Deep Down"), newly recruited from Angel onto Smallville. And my god that man is a slasher. Between his writing and the way that Tom Welling was acting, Clark was totally coming onto Lex all episode. I love Steven DeKnight so v. v. much. And come on, this is the man who, aside from the aforementioned Wes-feeding-Angel scene, co-wrote the two s5 eps with the most blatant Spike/Angel scenes ever (5.08 and 5.20, respectively), not to mention that great Spike/Xander scene in Buffy 5.20... I'm so happy that he's on Smallville. *smirk*

Woah, this is long... that's enough for now. ^_^;; *is rambling*

There was a second man on the Lion's Gate Bridge that wanted to jump too. I think they were in it together.

Cody quit, as far as I know; I haven't seen his card there since last testing.

Damn, really? Was it blocked up, too, then? I didn't hear about that, but then I didn't listen to any news after ~2:30.

No, I saw him at class the other day. He's a yellow belt.
