Anime, fannish-related stuff, and TKD.

For those interested, Naruto ch227 is up translated on http://www.narutofan.com/... yay. I want ch228 now. :( Okay chapter, but dear lord how long are they going to drag this arc on for?? Also, Naruto is so very much in love with Sasuke. I was amused. Also, I want that movie. *pouts* It's now officially released in Japan, so we'll have to see how long it is before someone gets ahold of either a bootlegged DVD or a video-taped one from the theatre (hopefully the former; it'd probably be slightly better quality) and subs it. Wee... I chose a good time to get into Naruto. ;P



In other anime-related news, I'm definitely liking Full Metal Alchemist. ^_^ Up to ch11 of the manga, and ep11 of the anime... it's odd seeing several of the events in the manga happening in the anime but at different times/in different contexts. Both are cool, though. It's up for grabs right now which one I finish first... I'm just sorta alternating between them at random. ^^ Next step: draw stuffs from it. Really want to draw Ed, cause he looks fun to draw... see, this is what happens when I get into something: first, read/watch as much of it as I can, as quickly as I can. Second, go online to find a. piccys, b. music, and c. fanfics. Third, start drawing a ton from it. ^_^

It's really nice having some new, er, cannon fodder, for stuff to draw... also it's been quite a long time (with a few brief exceptions) since I've been in a brand new fandom where I can explore fanfic/pairing possibilities to my heart's content... at the moment I'm pretty much open to most things and am just exploring... with a leaning towards Gaara-related fic. ^^ Have yet to read KakaIru though, and I really must do so soon. But it's great - like, with Smallville I really wasn't interested in any pairing other than Clark/Lex, but in Naruto I really have very few pairing opinions so I can just dabble in everything. I do the same in the BtVS/AtS fandoms to some extent, but really I just stick with my main pairings and authors in those and only stray when either an author I like writes something or I go on a brief *insert pairing* kick.

*stares at sketchbook* Ergh, it's late and I'm tired but I want to draw... curse that picture of Neji which is eluding me. -_- Haven't decided who in Naruto is next on my list - maybe I should finally get around to drawing Naruto himself. ^^ Also haven't yet drawn Sakura, Kakashi, or Iruka, and really must do so... hn.



I've already said what I wanted to about TKD testing on bk635's journal, so suffice to say that it was pathetic and embarrassing to watch, but I'm pleased with my own performance and yay me I broke that board! ^_^ Also it was over in less than an hour, so yay. And I definitely like the new schedule - MC black belt classes every weekday at 7, and the Saturday class has been moved back to 1:00. Score, an extra 15 minutes to sleep in! I hope to go to Friday classes when school starts, but it depends on if I'll have work... Not that they've called or scheduled me or anything. -_-

Oh, before I finish, I just want to add this - I just saw "Ed Wood", and anyone who likes Johnny and Tim Burton films? Rent it, cause wow. Fucking brilliant, and hilarious. Also, Johnny in drag - there can be no wrong there. I should see the other movie(s?) that he's cross-dressed in.. Also, I actually want to go rent Ed Wood's movies now just to see how bad they really are. ^^;;

I'll probably write more stuff later, but in my opinion, watch the anime then read the manga. You might get confused between the two and/or start comparing them as you go along and that might not be as fun; the manga or the anime might bring down your enjoyment of one or the other. *shrug* Up to you. The manga might even continue going on after the anime ends. :o

I was just saying that even though the manga takes a different turn from the anime, the manga still could present concepts and clues that might end up spoiling the anime, which in my opinion, does a much better job at those "spoiler moments".

Uh-huh. Not many moments when you're not at your compy, that's for sure.

I need to go to the rental house for a quick showing at 3. I think we'll have more than enough time, though I don't want to drive back to N. Van, drive -you- back, then come again. Maybe you could just take a walk around the block or something. ;p Seriously, it's gonna take 10 min max.

Hm, you're probably right... I guess I'll stick with the anime for now, then, and then go read the manga. It's true that I think I'm going to get pretty confused if I read them simultaneously, cause of the differences...
