Well, I know things around here are getting back to normal when Save-On calls asking me to do an 8-hour shift. -_- Joy. And because I'm A. stupid, B. was half-asleep at the time, and C. I don't want to turn down many shifts after being away for 3 weeks, I took it. *groans* I'm not actually that jet-lagged; I think I'm just tired because I was up late last night and, well, I'm always tired. ^^ But I'm a bit worried that it'll hit me hard all of a sudden half-way through the shift... Also I'm out of practice and I need to go review the codes and hope I don't screw anything up and forget what to do. -_-

I know I said I'd talk to some of you guys today, but that won't happen now since I'm on 1:30-10... you could always drop by Save-On. :P Anyway, hopefully I'll be free tomorrow (*twitch*), so we'll talk then...

That might be a good idea. ;P Problem with losing what little seniority I had is that I'm now constantly on-call... and I'm not even scheduled for the next two weeks, just on-call at the moment. -_- Anyway, it actually wasn't that bad... back's sore, but back's usually sore from work. ^^ But I need the money, so I'll survive... least come September I'll only be able to work weekends.

Dude. You LOST seniority for going on VACATION? WTF?!?!?!?

That's what I said.. ;_; Yeah, because of "union regulations" and blah blah blah, only a certain number of people can go on vacation at once and it goes by seniority. So in order to go away I had to quit then be re-hired, but I'd lose my seniority. The re-hiring stage seemed to have been basically automatic - I discussed the situation with the people there before I left, (and I'd already told them when I was hired... -_-) and justbefore I left the woman who does the schedules called me and told me that she was putting me in the schedules for when I got back, just at the bottom of the list. *sigh*

Least I wasn't there too long, so I didn't really lose that much seniority, but it still sucks being back on-call constantly. ^^

I was on "vacation" for almost half a year (read: "Evil, EVIL Safeway!!! I SHALL BE YOUR WHORE NO LONGER!!!") and I -still- had my seniority. O.O Are you sure you have a "union," or a "Communist controlling party"?

*sneeerk* Good ol' Safeway. ;P I dunno, I didn't want to argue it... Maria (scheduler-person) didn't seem particularly pleased when I told her I was going away, though she shut up a bit when I told her that I'd already told the woman who hired me. ^^ But otoh I knew from the start that I might have to quit, and it didn't really affect that much, so I don't really care... pretty stupid, though. ^^;;

Heh, that is true. I'd still want to get something -closer- to UBC, but that's just me. I guess it depends on your schedule.

I'm not really sure what I'm going to do yet... *sighs* I'll probably be coming home each weekend again, but I don't want to _have_ to come home each weekend, know what I mean? That's why I quit Panago last year (aside from that fact that I hated it. -_-), because I didn't like not being able to stay out there if I wanted. I'm going to keep it for now and see how it works out. Especially because I want it for December, though I don't think I want to work until exams are over, which only leaves 2-odd weeks.

Oh, speaking of schedule - will email it over now.

The schedule finally works. XD You know, my schedule currently has Astr 311 second term, but I may take it 1st term if I get into that History class 2nd. Sociology is starting to look like the better alternative all the time now, but I'd better actually take a few classes and not rely on my own opinion and [livejournal.com profile] bk635's textbook. I didn't take any "slacker" classes, and will be very busy with all the work . . . but I did take mostly "enjoyable" classes; things -I- want to do and at the same time, are pre-reqs to next year. ^^

Now, if that godamned japanese History course would just open up . . .
