Eh, bugger. We're watching a film for the entire class and I already watched it last year. And I think I wrote something on it. ^^; Got my computer, anyway, but it's at 69% and the only two outlets available are taken. Waah. Please don't die computer? I'd leave, but we're getting our midterms back at the end of class. *le sigh* Oh well, I'm going to go submit some prompts to [livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest while I watch. Spent most of the busride here thinking some up. :)

Dammit, you know, I think I actually watched this twice. -_- Once in class, then later in the film lab so I could take notes for the thing I was going to write. Bleh. It's interesting, but.... there's only so many times someone wants to see a documentary. XD

Well, I just quite effectively passed an entire class watching a movie I've already seen by typing up prompts for [livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest. ^^ Here's what I've come up with so far, most of those I worked out on the bus. I really want to submit a Jack Harkness/Jack Sparrow one, because I've wanted to see more of that (or ANY of it) written for ages, but can't really think of a way to make it legitately about LGBT issues and not just about two hot guys having sex. XD XD Any ideas?? Something about how they both have fluid sexualities and recognize that in each other. Suppose I could throw in something about how others (at the time, or the Doctor & Rose if it's during DW) react to them.

*checks clock* 8 more minutes... I'm not actually sure if I've seen this part of the movie. Might have only seen part of it... oh wells. Not like there's a test on this or anything. ^^ Though it is quite interesting. It's called Forbidden Love and is a documentary about lesbians in the 20s-40s or something. About the difficulties in coming to terms with their sexualities, coming out, getting involved in the hidden gay scene back then...

Anyway, spread around the word about [livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest - it's an awesome looking fest, and I can't wait to see what comes out of it (some of the prompts submitted make me bounce with excitement!). Fun though the more shallow slash is, it'll be great to see some stories that really dig into the issues of sexuality and whatnot.

Watching New Amsterdam pilot on Fox right now. It's quite possible that so far my main impression is "damn, but the main character looks like Nathan Fillion." Seriously, it's kinda eerie. Both Mom and I think that he looks like Nathan. XD Other than that, no real thoughts. It's okay. Nothing special, imo, so not sure that I'll tune in for another ep unless it really takes off. I was vaguely excited to see Robert Clohessy (yay Oz alumni!), though was surprised to see that he's looking quite a bit older these days, and appears to have less hair than he did a few years ago. XD Oh well, fun to see him again.

On another note, I started writing one of the prompts I submitted to [livejournal.com profile] lgbtfest earlier. XD What can I say, I so rarely get the urge to write that when I do.... anyway, it's the SPN AU one where Sam came out to John and Dean when he was 18, got into a fight with John about it, and stormed off. Four years later, John's missing and Dean tracks him down at Stanford... Jessica is James, and so far that's pretty much all I've got. Not sure where to go with it, but I like the idea. If it takes off, I'll claim my own prompt and write it properly, though I hope that someone else claims it too because I'd love to see what a really good author could do with the idea. :)

Speaking of SPN AUs, I'm suddenly really intrigued by the idea of an AU where John is killed by the YED and Mary becomes a hunter, seeking to avenge her husband's death. I'm curious about how this would have changed the tone of the show, if the boys were raised by Mary and she taught them to fight. How might it change the gender issues of the show? How would it change who the boys are? I wonder... anyone know if this has been written before? I'd love to read a fic like that.

NA is over. It was... okay. Kinda dull and typical, imo. And the main character looking like Nathan Fillion was very distracting. XD I dunno, we'll see how it goes.

*is now watching CNN* So, Clinton won Texas eh? Good for her. :) I don't really have a strong opinion on which of them I prefer; I'd really need to read more about their politics to decide. Oh well, not like I'll be able to vote for them, anyway... *sigh* Sometimes I think I'm more excited by American politics than my own. ^^;
