Oscar Nominations

Wow, Pirates was nominated for quite a bit for the Oscars... hadn't really expected it to; it's awesome, but it didn't seem like an Oscar type of movie... Johnny Depp for best actor! Come on, they gave it to Bill Murray for the Globes, give it to Johnny for this! *glare* The Last Samurai _wasn't_ nominated for best picture which disappointed me, but it was nominated for quite a bit... I hope Lost in Translation doens't win. -_- Can't say I liked it that much, and of the choices there I want RotK to win. And it probably will. Was v. disappointed that PotC wasn't nominated for best score (Finding Nemo? What the hell, I don't ever _remember_ the music... -_-), but it got sound editing and sound. Is there a question what will win for best visual effects? *snort* Best animated is obviously a no-brainer, too. Hmm, I hope Girl with a Pearl Earring wins for either art direction or cinematography; it was beautifully shot. Although I think Last Samurai has a chance for art direction, too. Best original screenplay - it'll be a toss-up between Lost in Translation and Finding Nemo, but I can guarantee the former will win... blah, Finding Nemo was _so_ much funnier. And if Ken Watanabe loses for best supporting actor, dammit I will be pissed. He should've got the Globe. ;_; Also, disappointed that Tom Cruise not nominated for TLS... I thought he was really good. ;_;

Okay, that's it from me on the Oscar nominations.. looking forward to Feb. 29th.

And note how I should be in my Arts 1 lecture right now. Note how I'm NOT. Was there for first half, became v. bored, then left at break. Fuck, I need to read these poems and think about my essay. O.O I'd do the one on Blake's Songs of Innocence and Experience, but there are at least 20+ poems to read for that... *sigh* Maybe I should get around to reading Pope's "Essay On Man" and do it on that. ^^

Oh, and random question as I listen to this song - is there a instrumental version of Otherworld anywhere? I'm near certain that the version in the game was instrumental... *sigh* The vocal stuff is... kinda annoying.

I can burn for you if you want. :P I listen to it... far too much. It really suits the movie, and it's really... bouncy and addictive and brings to mind images of Jack swinging around on robes and looking cool. How many times have you seen the movie, anyway? You don't own the DVD, do you? You can borrow, if you want...
