THE BOYS ARE BACK.

Sitting at the Seabus terminal downtown waiting for Seabus to get home... ot bout 20 minutes to wait. Thought I'd write up thoughts on Supernatural while they're still fresh and while I have nothing else to do, so I can post it when I get home.
Short version: It was awesome. :)
Long version: It was really awesome? Heh. Okay, seriously... I'm just so damned hyped to have my show back that I would've been happy with pretty much anything better than the season 3 premiere... Loved the beginning with the boys suddenly finding themselves on the airplane - the cut from all the white light of Lucifer emerging to the cartoon devil on the airplane TV was great.
- the scene with Chuck, and then with Zachariah - had already seen it online, but still great. "It's been a stressful day" - true enough. ^^ Poor guy looked so shell-shocked... and the look on Dean's face when he heard that Cas was dead, awww. And Dean getting so angry at Zachariah in part because he killed Cas. And "I learned that from my friend Cas", which I'd heard already in the clip but it was bad quality and I'd forgotten about it. Excuse me while I got wibble, because he called Cas his friend! ;_; I'm gradually being won over by Dean/Castiel... much of which I blame on Misha being awesome.
- the fangirl - lol, not sure if I should be amused or offended. ;) Mostly amused, because I know they're just poking gentle fun at us and because the whole "This is wrong, Sam!" "If this is wrong, I don't want it to be right" lines in the fic were totally the kinds of lines I've seen in Wincest fic... Also because it was pretty funny watching her feel up Sam and being all, "you're so firm!" and Sam being all "...can you please stop touching me?" and Dean being all "wut." ;)
- Bobby! Oh Bobby... I did wonder if it was really him, and relieved that it wasn't. Because for all that what Sam did was bad, well, he doesn't bear the full responsibility for the apocalypse. After all, Dean and Bobby were all set to kill Lilith, they thought that was what was necessary just as much as Sam did - they just didn't want to go about it by drinking demon blood and cavorting around with an untrustworthy demon... still, the look on Sam's face when demon!Bobby was all, "when this is over, lose my phone number", that hurt. :( Bobby fighting the demon, taking back control, and stabbing himself to save Dean was fucking awesome, however. Well, except for the 'stabbing himself' part, and I had to remind myself how Jim said in his recent Tweets that he's headed up to Vancouver right now to film scenes... can't believe he's paralyzed, though! Hopefully not permanently?? Bobby's too awesome to be unable to fight. :(
- the sword of the Archangel Michael is in a storage unit! Awesome! Except... not? Dean is the sword of Michael. Huh. Interesting... not sure what to make of that! Made more sense to hear that he's Michael's vessel, but I wonder why or how? Did the sword take human form in Dean? To be protected from the demons? I don't know... anyway, we'll have to see how that goes.
- which brings us to... CASTIEL KICKING ASS. WITH A SWORD. Well, a sword-knife type thing. STILL. It was awesome. :) Obviously I knew Cas would be back by this point thanks to spoilers, not to mention Misha being in the starring credits (which, by the way, go Misha!), but it was still exciting as hell to see him back in action and beating the shit out of Zachariah and the angels and evidently, like, channeling God or something when he was all "put these boys back together and leave", and Zachariah just did it. Awesome. Also intriguing on many levels, because... it seemed to me strongly implied there that God brought Castiel back, and yet what does that mean for Zachariah and the other angels? Which brings me back to last season and Zachariah's comment that "God has left the building", which definitely made me wonder if maybe they're doing all this without God's consent and... I don't know how that would work, but I'm still intrigued to know what that comment meant. ^^ I imagine fandom's discussed it to hell and back, but I've generally avoided Supernatural meta because, well, this fandom is wanky as shit. Lots of talent and some great fics and art, but wanky as shit.
(and you know, sometimes I just want to take a step back and say... "dude, we're talking about Lucifer. And angels and God and the sword of the Archangel Michael and wut. When did SPN become so religious when it used to be all about the urban myths and such?" But oh well, I was iffy on it last season but I'm enjoying it anyway because they've done a good job of it and, face it, having Lucifer around raises the stakes.)
- guess I should say something about Lucifer, shouldn't I? Umm.. mostly I just kept thinking, "It's Jacob from Lost!" heh. I'd read that they plan to make him a more sympathetic and misunderstood character like in Milton's Paradise Lost, though I'm inclined to point out that the reason Milton made Lucifer seemingly sympathetic in the start of PL was to show people how good he was at manipulating people. ^^ But hey, whatever, it'll be more interesting than "Lucifer is pure evil!", especially considering how they've shown the angels to date.
- and lastly, the final scene... and the boys continue to break our hearts. :( I hope they eventually get back something of what they once had, but the truth of it is, as Dean said, Sam betrayed him in so many ways and it'll be hard for him to ever trust him again. The look on his face when he said that he had counted on Sam and that he could no longer trust him, so heartbreaking... and when he said that it can never go back to the way they once were. Oh. ;__; It's so hard to imagine the boys without that constant snark and underlying love and devotion, and I hope Sam can regain Dean's trust in the end. Somehow. *sigh* oh you silly boys...
- lesse, anything else? *thinks* I aww-d at that last scene with Bobby when he told Sam that it was all the demon before, and that he'd never cut him out. :)
Think that's it. I kind of want to squee about things I know are coming up, but I'll keep this spoiler-free for the future eps. Don't know too much anyway, just a few general things and episode descriptions and casting spoilers. It's going to be a good season, though, I'm sure of it! And if it's the last season, well... hopefully it'll go out in style. :)
On Seabus now, approaching the Quay... almost home, yay. Tomorrow I'm heading downtown to meet with a temp agency - got an email back from them the other day with the results for the computer test I did online last week, saying that I'd done very well and that they want to meet with me tomorrow to register properly. YAY. Here's hoping I actually get some work from them... the one temp agency I'm actually registered fully with hasn't called yet. :(
*15 odd minutes later* Okay, home now - arrived in the terminal just as I was writing the above paragraph, hadn't realized we were so close! Anyway, nothing more to say, so just gonna post it now...
