It's been a few weeks since my last update, so I thought I'd give you all a rundown of the past few weeks and post some pictures from our last WWOOF host in Central Tilba. Lesse, last post I covered the Blue Mountains and swine flu... since then, we went to Central Tilba, a small town on the south cost of NSW (about a 6 hour bus trip south of Sydney) and stayed with a really nice host there for a week. The host herself was very nice, and the town was just lovely... tiny little village, about a 15-minute drive from the bigger town of Narooma. Reminded me of Bowen a bit, but even smaller and more quaint. The general store, such as it was, doubled as a post office and had a little gas pump that looked like something out of the 1950s sitting outside... and a really, really good bakery. And a candy store (or, I should, say a 'lolly shop' - love that)! The entire area was very beautiful, too. Our host took us on drives to the nearby beaches, which were beautiful and practically deserted. And almost warm enough to swim in (I didn't have my bathing suit so I just waded), in spite of their claims that this is "cold" (winter, hah!). We also climbed Mt. Gulaga, which is right near Central Tilba and is accessible from a path from the nearby town of (wait for it) Tilba Tilba. I love this country. :) It was 2-3 hours up and a good workout, considering that neither of us are exactly hikers. But at the top is a sacred Aboriginal site that our host had told us about, which is this incredible little area, a few minutes off the trail and unmarked on the map, with these huge rocks. According to her, it's nearly as important to Aboriginal people as Uluru. It's very cool and spiritual...

Exciting news! I'm coming home August 19th, now. Changed my flight the other day. I can't afford that last month, and don't really know what I would have done, anyway. And this way I can go to the Supernatural convention in Vancouver at the end of August, as well as to an info session for SFU's editing certificate program. Don't know how interested I am, but I'm going to check out the info session and see what I think... anyway, I'm looking forward to being home again and seeing you all! About 5 weeks left... feels like it's gone so fast!
