A few reasons, that among them.. gah, I'm sorry, I thought I'd mentioned it to you, but I guess not... well, not as anything definitive anyway, I'll grant. *rambling* I've been turning the idea over in my head for awhile, but only really decided for sure to do it in the past few weeks.
Anyway, as for 'why Australia'... I've never been there before, and if I'm actually going to live and work in a country for awhile then I'd like somewhere new but which is also relatively familiar (ie English-speaking, similar culture to our's...). Been to Europe several times now, and while I considered England, I like the idea of going somewhere totally new and also, of course, where Jane is right now. Also, it's warm. ;) Anyway, it sounds pretty cool, and I'd also love to see New Zealand if I get the chance (plus: kangeroos!).
Anyway, a lot of it's just because I need a change and need to do something new and exciting. I've been bumming around for the past year or whatever working at my current job and trying to "figure out my career interests", and I still have no clue, so it seems like it's time to take a break and do something completely different. I never took a gap year, just gone straight from HS to Univ to work, and I think I need to get out there and experience life a bit, ya'know? And gotta do it while I'm still young, before I get caught up in a career and family and all that...
