It's news to me. I've seen the pilot several times on TBS and other networks that air the show and it's always been the same every time. An easy way to indentify it is the first conversation between George and Jerry, where Jerry criticizes George's shirt because he thinks the button is too high on it (they have this exact conversation in the final scene of the show, as well). They also call Kramer "Kessler" instead, due to certain legalities. Then later in the series Jerry tells Kramer that Marvin Kessler died and Kramer says something like "Kessler, huh? That makes you think...". I love the little nuances.
And yeah, the backwards episode "The Betrayal" is one of my favorites.

Mm.. I think it would be kind of cool to have a handgun, but in practicality I don't like the idea of everyone having one. :\
