ria_oaksEvanescence. They actually fucking played Evanescence, and "My Immortal", at that. Oh. My. God. I was already laughing my ass off and shaking my head in disgust, and the moment Evanescence started playing I just lost it. Dude, that was SO BAD I couldn't look away. Oh god, there are no words. It was certainly entertaining it was so bad, at least. But wow, rip-off much... the between-scenes quick cut montages of LA? The fucking black convertible? The really bad attempts at quippy one-liners? I was crying on the inside, ya'll. What did Angel do to deserve being ripped off so badly? I mean yeah, it's pretty different in a lot of ways, but no matter how you cut it, it comes across as an incredibly bad attempt to to rip off a perfectly good show.
That said, Jason Dohring was good and managed to take the terrible lines and make them sound ALMOST half-way decent. The only genuine chuckles I got out of the entire thing came from him (his second scene, I believe - think he was only in two, anyway?) But wow do I feel sorry for him having to wrap his mouth arounds those lines. Yikes.
Bets on how long this will last? Anyone? :) Some shows just deserve to be put out of their misery...
TV wrap up for the rest of the week, cause I've been lazy - Heroes was sweet and I am more than a bit in love with Noah Bennett, PB was decent but felt like filler/set-up, House was fucking awesome and I love Wilson and the hoyay was out of this world, SVU was a trainwreck but who's surprised at that?, Private Practive was semi-decent but I don't really care although Paul Adelstein is indeed adorable, GA was mostly decent until the end, The Office was fucking brilliant as always and anything more would be a spoiler, My Name is Earl was funny as always, and I've yet to watch more than the first 20 odd minutes of Smallville so I have no real thoughts on that.
I think I'll just do this every week instead of real reviews. XD
First part-time week at work, and I've gotta say it's nice getting off 3 hours early. :) Lack of being paid sucks, but getting off at 2:45 instead of 5:30? Pretty sweet. XD Oh well, I'll try to be productive and work on getting Mom's business going when I get home (haha, this hasn't happened yet...). Oh, I also started Taekwondo on the island! Lots of fun. But they start everyone off at white belt, it seems, so I'm a white belt again... which is really weird and kinda depressing. I miss my black belt with my name on it. :( Guess I'd better get practicing again. :)
