Hmm, I wonder... I find it hard to believe that Lucifer is actually real and is possessing Ruby. I like the idea of him just being an idea, like God, that may or may not exist. Though it's true that her comment does suggest it. Interesting...
Oh yes, I really liked Dean showing some compassion for her and maybe starting to recognize some of the greys. Although maybe that's more just because he knows that that was a real person underneath the demon?
And yes, it's nice to see Dean finally realize that something's wrong with Sam. I'm really looking forward to seeing where they go with this - sounds like we're really going to get a sense of dark!Sam this season. They've hinted at it before, but looks like they're going to go all out with it this season. Though a thought - maybe Sam's actually the same as he's always been, the difference is that everyone thinks he's different? So it's like an excuse for what he has to do, but in reality it's really him... I like that better than him coming back 'wrong'. Like Buffy s6 - she didn't come back wrong; she was just dealing with her feelings about coming back from the dead and everything that was happening to her. She tried to use it as an excuse for sleeping with Spike, but it was really just her.
