Tonight's Lost = dgadklhddafldkjfdkaf22122222OMFGWAHHH.
That is about the level of coherency I have for the episode. ^__- Once again this show gets better and better with every episode.
Okay, I take it back, I have more coherent thoughts. I know no one here will read it, but I feel the need to write about it so I'm posting anyway. ^^;;
*sniffles repeatedly* RIP, Boone. :( I'd expected it to some extent (though I considered the possibility of them faking us out and killing someone different), and he was never one of my favourite characters, but still very sad. In some ways I'm a bit relieved, since I was worried that one of my favourite characters (Sayid, mainly) was going to die, and now that Boone's dead my fav chars are safe for now. Even so, I was very sad - I just wish no one would die. :( I was starting to get more fond of him, too. I feel really bad for all the big Boone fans. *sends hugs in their general directions*
I many ways, however, I found the most compelling part of this episode to be Jack - his past, his constant need to save everyone and his fear that he can't, and his eventual realization that he had to let go and let Boone die. Matthew Fox's performance was amazing - he was so intense, especially right before he almost amputated Boone's leg (I was squealing in horror and almost covering my eyes at that part - very glad it didn't happen!), and just after that as Boone died. I think this's definitely his most powerful performance to date, and this episode really upped my liking for Jack. The revelation that he was married knocked me flat - I never would have seen that coming. I wonder what happened to her? Is she still alive, are they divorced, what? I was certain there that he was going to say he couldn't marry her, and I was somewhat surprised that he went through with it. Not sure that it was the right decision, but I guess we'll see eventually how it played out. Oh, and also - "Don't tell me what I can't do!" = creepy parallel, much? I wonder if Locke needs to do what Jack inevitably had to in this episode - let go. Doesn't look like that's going to happen anytime soon, though - even Boone's injuries didn't stop him from running off and obsessing over the hatch some more. Not that I even fully blame him for his obsession with the island and his need to understand it, espeically after last episode and the near-return of his paralysis. I still want to smack him, though.
Heh, I was torn between crying from sadness when Boone died, and crying for joy when Claire's baby was born. Awwww, so sweet. ;) And Sawyer smiling at the end, how cute was that? Now we just have to hope that the baby's a normal baby, and not a Scary!Satan!Baby. Or maybe the later would be more interesting. ;p I wonder if Ethan did do something to her/her baby? Hmm...
My love for pretty much every character went up exponentially in this episode, especially Jack, Sun, and Jin. How much do I love Sun? So very very much. I adored her interactions with Jack, and damn but this episode made me glad that she speaks English and that the others know it now. She rocks. ^_^ And Jin helping out (and letting Sun translate for him, finally!) was wonderful - the hug with Charlie was so cute! And he knows the word 'doctor', heh. I wonder how much English he's managed to pick up so far? I mean, he and Sun were in Australia for a short while, right? Wouldn't they have had to been able to speak a few phrases in English from some crappy phrasebook or something? That just occurred to me the other day. Huh.
The ending with Shannon and Sayid coming back was killer - I felt so bad for her, having absoultely no idea what had happened while she was out on her romantic date. :( Talk about a shock - "so Shannon, while you were away on your date your brother died. Sorry." (though I wonder what Jack actually did say? That's always been his main weakness as a doctor after all, dealing with the patients and the family). Poor Shannon. The Shannon/Sayid interlude in general didn't interest me much - I've never liked that pairing, and I still don't much. It's okay, but I don't find it that interesting and it makes Sayid all boringly schmoopy. I want dark angsty Sayid, but it looks like we're getting that next episode. Oh, I did love this exchange, though - Shannon: "Are you lost?" Sayid: "No, I'm not lost." Heh, the obligatory 'lost' joke. Shannon telling Sayid that Boone loved her was a bit surprising - wonder what he'd say if he knew they slept together? o.o
Next episode looks very exciting - pity we have to wait 3 weeks. Jack going off to take revenge on Locke is eep-worthy - I don't completely blame Locke for Boone's death, but the man could have at least stuck around while he was dying! I can't believe he wasn't in the entire episode. Next ep's Sayid-centric, and I really hope we get some more insight into his past and his darker side (which seems to have disappeared since Confidence Man in lieu of him making schmoopy romantic gestures to Shannon). Him pulling out a gun on Locke is a good start, though. ;p Wonder who shot Locke at the end of the promo? And will he die? I was under the impression that only 1 character would die this season, but you never know with them. Interesting thought - if Locke gets shot (assuming it's not Jack who does it), will Jack feel morally obligated in any way to save him? Revenge vs his integrity as a doctor? Hmm...
Well, 2 more weeks of reruns, then the recap ep, then ep21. Can't wait.
Went back and forth between using a Jack icon or a Boone icon for this post, but eventually went for Boone. I need to start using dif icons for dif posts instead of always using my default, but since I only get 3 on a free account I've never bothered.
