Whew, am tired. Busy weekend! Worked on actual work on Thursday and Friday morning, then helped Mom out with her dinner party Friday afternoon/evening. Went for a hike yesterday (more under cut in a sec), then went to a friend of Mom's place in the West End to see the Celebration of Light Fireworks - wow! Seen em a couple of times from West Van, but the view from there sucks and you don't get the music unless you have a radio. We were on the roof of an apartment not far from the water, and had a fantastic view of the barge and the fireworks (not to mention the crowds of people below, suckers!). Definitely the way to see them! Getting back was still hell, though; it's about a 20 min walk back from his place to the Seabus and the streets were just thronged. With a lot of annoying drunk people, too. -_- Got to the Seabus station and freaked when we saw the MASSIVE INSANE lineup, but turned out that was for the skytrain and there was practically no one on the Seabus. Score one for North Van!
Today was frantic Porn Battle writing in the morning, as I already posted about, then trying to work in the afternoon/evening. Writing this morning tired me out, though, and left me incredibly sore from all the fast typing. And I wasn't feeling great to begin with. But I got some work done, and am off to bed soon. Will look again at my PB fic later, maybe do some more editing, then post it to AO3 and various DS places.
Oh, and the fireworks TOTALLY made me want to read/write Fraser-RayK fireworks fic. Like, Ray taking Fraser to a 4th of July barbecue and feeding him a hot dog and sitting on a picnic blanket together watching the fireworks. And snuggling. :) And Fraser being all, "Well, Ray, I do understand that this is an important tradional American pastime, but I'm afraid that after growing up under the Aurora, fireworks aren't really..." but loving them anyway, and Fraser bitching about the crap that's in a hot dog (except, you know, with bigger and more polite words) and then eating it anyway because Ray asks him to, and Ray telling Fraser all about how they used to celebrate the 4th of July every year when he was a kid... and Fraser lecturing Ray on American history. XD XD
(alternatively, of course, there's Canada Day - but let's face it, we don't really get as excited about that as the Americans do about the 4th of July, based on what I know, and it seems like a much stronger tradition down there. And I like the idea of Ray trying to introduce Fraser to this part of American culture, especially the hot dog part. XD And the snuggling on the blanket under the fireworks. Of course.)
Aaaanyway. Saturday's hike, now complete with pictures!
( Hike + Pictures )Bed now!
