Sorry for the late update... I wrote all this up last Sunday, after my last day at Supanova, but messed up on the html when uploading the pictures and.. yeah, got lazy and didn't get around to fixing it until today. We spent the past week staying with our distant relatives near Byron Bay (just south of the Queensland border, about 1.5 hours south of Brisbane), which was lovely. She was very nice and generous, and the town (Brunswick Heads) was very pretty. And warm! We went to the beach and swam, it was great. Her two young granddaughters (5 and 7) were staying with her for the first few days, and I had a surprisingly good time playing with them - they were very cute. :) We're at our lateast WWOOF host now, which is very nice - family with 3 kids, and we've been doing some gardening... we're still in the Byron Bay area, in a town called Mullumbimby. We're staying here until next Sunday, then staying overnight with our relative again and her husband, who works in Brisbane and goes up every Monday morning, is going to drive us into Brisbane. Then we're staying with
rainbowpegacorn, which I'm really looking forward to. Plus, Harry Potter!! :) Then at the end of the month Mom arrives for our trip, and after that... probably coming home at the end of August, because I'm going to be low on money and don't know what I'd do that last month.
Anyway, here's the post about Supanova I wrote up last Sunday, edited slightly since it's no longer the same day:
Okay, last day of Supanova... kinda dull, but reasonably entertaining overall I suppose. Turns out that Stanislav Ianevski couldn't make it at all, so I wandered around on the floor some more, then got my Watchmen poster signed by Dave Gibbons and watched the Cosplay contest for awhile. Then wandered around some more, trying to decide on my last convention purchase... In the end it was down to the "And then Buffy staked Edward. The End." t-shirt ($30, which I gotta say.. way too fucking much for a t-shirt, but all the t-shirts at all the dealer booths were at least that much!) and, er, an Obama bobble head for $20. ^^;; The t-shirt won, though I came thisclose to buying the Obama doll after anyway before sense returned to me and I high tailed it out of there to save my wallet... Still kind of want one, though - maybe another time! I do love my t-shirt, though... only thing I ended up buying Sunday - I was hoping that some of the booths would have new merch, but no such luck. Though one did suddenly acquire Iron Man Mighty Muggs dolls and ohgod I wanted one, have been coveting one for monthes and they're never in stock anymore, but it was $30 so... yeah. Didn't buy it. Not into Iron Man enough anymore, anyway.
So, pictures... under cut, enjoy. :)

And that's it! Good weekend overall, I guess. Not a hell of a lot to do since there really weren't that many interesting panels or seminars, but oh well... I like seeing the costumes and being among fellow fans. :) BUT. NEXT YEAR. Comic-Con, baby! I am so going next year. Maybe. If I can afford it... butbutbut, I want to go so badly! Wanted to go this year, and ended up going to Australia instead. Oh well. But yeah, next year... also thinking, since I may well decide to go home early and leave ~August 20th when Mom goes home... I might end up going to the Supernatural con in Vancouver at the end of August. Okay scratch that, if I do go home early then I'm definitely going unless it sells out - I missed out on meeting Jared, Jensen, and Misha in Sydney in April, so dammit if they're going to be in my own city then I'm going! It's $75 for a 'preferred seating' ticket (aka reserved seats at the panels, a necessity for the Jared/Jensen panel I figure, and only $25 more than the normal ticket) for Sunday, the day the boys are appearing. And $30 for a regular ticket for Saturday to meet Misha, dont' think I'll bother with the preferred one for that day (it's $50). All USD, unfortunately, so it's more like $120 than $105 for the two days... bleh. But yeah, I think it'd be worth it. And Misha's signature isn't too expensive nor is it sold out (Jared and Jensen's were $60 each and are sold out), so might get that too. Anyway, we shall see...

So yeah... gotta go to bed soon, but wanted to get this posted. Still have pics from Central Tilba to upload at some point to my travelblog...
