*bites fingernails* I've been refreshing CNN.com at work since the first polls closed 2 hours ago, and couldn't concentrate on work very well. ^^ Now home with CNN on in the background and the website up, and things are looking good... I hope. o.o This is gonna be an exciting evening! It's funny to see so many people all over my f-list who aren't American also watching the election - hell, I've paid far more attention to it than the Canadian one (which face it, was a complete waste of time). Can't seem to tear my eyes off of it... after all, it certainly impacts all of us as well. Anyway, gonna go grab some food then settle down and watch the results come in all evening. Yay. ^^ (also, Indecision 2008 at 10pm - can't wait! Wish I could see it live, though - it airs at 10pm EST and 10pm PST, so we're getting it 3 hours later... wah. Why couldn't they air it at 7pm here??)

Wow it's looking good so far... 194 to 69. Fuck yeah. Just had dinner down at Doc's and spent most of it trying to make out the numbers on the TV screen (it was slightly too far away for me to easily read it) and doing an internal dance whenever it looked like Obama's numbers went up. Then spent about 10 minutes happily bashing McCain with another girl when I walked up to the screen before going to pay and saw that Obama was at 174 (it looked like 124 from where I was sitting, so... yeah, that made me happy).

AND he's just been projected to win Ohio! Woo hoo! McCain is so screwed. :) CNN is trying to show a hypothetical way he could still win, but it looks very unlikely and is based on him winning several states that he's far behind in. And heh, now they're basically saying that there's no way he could win... let's hope! :)

Eek, a bit of cold water on the overall happiness - Proposition 8 in California, which would overturn the legalization of gay marriage, is winning... come ON California, don't do this! That would be terrible - we were all so excited when it became legal back in spring... plus, I presume that would invalidate all the marriages done since then. :(

Anyway, that aside - I'm pretty deliriously happy right now. What an incredible and historic night.
