Just took pictures of my Lost pumpkin lit up, so here's a link to it... this is a link to the post I made to [livejournal.com profile] lost_tv, which I just edited to include the new pictures. Tell me what you guys think. :)

Just got back from Isaacs, and an awesome show by a hypnotist that got volunteers up on stage, hypnotized them, and made them do crazy (and mostly sexual) stuff. Freaking hilarious! Hard to know what's real and what's faked, but it's difficult to imagine that people would fake doing some of that stuff. o.o Pretty crazy, but very entertaining... off to bed now, I guess. Had to tape or download my shows tonight, so off to get House and L&O: SVU d-loading and make sure that Veronica Mars taped okay. Oh yeah, and will in theory write review of Prison Break at some point...

Blaah. I just asked my prof what ep of Lost we're screening next week (since I'm doing the presentation on it) and we're watching 1X10 "Raised by Another", aka the first Claire episode. Fucking crap. -_- I'm disappointed and kinda pissed off now, because I couldn't give a damn about that episode, I've only seen it once, and I don't particularly like Claire. The last few scenes with Ethan are good, but... blaaaaaaaaaaah. This stinks. I thought she'd be showing the Pilot, but she said it's not representative of the show's typical narrative structure (which is true, but... why Raised by Another???). Meh, maybe it was better than I remember. I don't really recall the episode. But honestly, there are so many much better episodes from season 1 she could have shown! How about "Outlaws"? or "Exodus"? or "Numbers?" or.... something else?? I was hoping it'd be the Pilot because I know that ep (esp pt1) really well, so I wouldn't need to go dig up the episode (my season 1 DVDs are in Vancouver...) and watch it again until the screening. I can watch the episode in the pop culture office/screening area, but I might as well just download it so I have a copy on my computer until I've finished the presentation.

Sigh. Okay, break's over and we're back to lecture... we're doing a topic I'm interested in this week (representation of gay/lesbian characters on TV), but my good mood's been ruined. ;_; I know it's kinda silly, but I've been really looking forward to this presentation all term, and now it feels like it's been pulled out from under me. I'm going to pull in other episodes to talk about and show clips from in the presentation, if I can figure out ways to work them in.

My feelings about Lost are not good right now. Between this disappointment and my knowledge of what's happening tonight... fucking ratings grab, that's all it is. November sweeps, what can we expect? I'm not really looking forward to the episode tonight. I've been enjoying season 3 so far, it's generally a big improvement over season 2, but I wish they'd stop pulling this kinda shit.

Bleh, now the prof's talking about the 1990s and the Defense of Marriage Act/other anti-gay policies, and it's depressing me. Should really be taking notes. ^^;

*wanders off grumbling to start paying attention*

Yay, we're watching a clip from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. XD Then we're going to watch the coming out episode of Ellen. There are a lot of other shows I would've liked to see discussed or screened, but that ep of Ellen is definitely important for the history of gay representation. Hopefully the presenters this week will bring in other shows, or else I'll bring them up in class. XD

Haha, Carson's awesome... too bad they cancelled this show. ;_;

Watching an old episode of Oprah about the Ellen coming out episode now... just hearing the anti-gay shit some of the bastards are spouting is pissing me off.

Okay, listening to Ellen herself talking about her decision to come out made me feel better. :)

Going to post this now and actually pay attention... cause this is rambly.
