GIP, and updates

samertia, because I was getting tired of my Brokeback Mountain one and I need something that fits what I'm currently into... I've been watching way, WAY too much Farscape over the last few weeks. Up to 3X08, less than 2 seasons left... wah. :( Oh well, even if UPN had kept it on Saturdays at 11 so I could actually watch it on TV, it would've taken forever to get through the whole series and I probably would have gotten fed up and downloaded it anyway once it started getting good... it's on Sundays at 11 (end of s1) and 12 (end of s2), but even though the 12am one's pretty close to where I am a. I don't want to wait 8-9 weeks for it to catch up with me, and b. it's just too late at night on a Sunday... I kinda wish I could buy the DVDs, but at $150+ per season I really can't justify it. I'll buy The Peacekeeper Wars, though, and if the season box sets ever drop to ~$50 and I'm interested enough then I'll consider buying them. But really, $150 for 22 episodes and average extras? That's ridiculous.
So anyway, in other news: I broke the backspace button on my laptop keyboard. -_- I suck. I took it to Futureshop after many aborted attempts to get it back in, and they told me I'd have to order a new keyboard from Dell... joy. I called them yesterday and fortunately my warranty covers it (though technically it was my own damned fault... still, it'd have to be pretty flimsy for what I did to break it!). They're mailing it to me, and it should be here (North Van, actually) in a couple of days. Futureshop said that they can install it for $40, but the Dell guy directed me to instructions on their website about how to do it myself so yay. I'm glad that this isn't going to cost me any money and I won't have to send my laptop in... I was kinda worried for awhile. ^^ In the meantime, fortunately I have a normal keyboard that I've hooked up to my laptop. I can kinda use the laptop keyboard, but the backspace button just doesn't work that well so it's a pain in the ass.
On a different topic: I'm insane (but you all knew that already, right?) I'm considering going to Collectormania 9 in England on April 28th-30th, since that's exactly when I'll be going to Italy (assuming I get accepted, of course..). I have to be in Italy on May 1st, so I can fly to London on April 27th, go to the con for a couple of days, and fly to Italy on Mon. April 30th. The airfare's actually cheaper, b/c it's only ~$550 to London for some flights, and London to Italy is ridiculously cheap (normal airlines are ~$200, but there are some super cheap airlines with tickets as cheap as 10 pounds! Crazy.) Only thing is that the actual con will cost me a lot of money - entrance is free, but autographs cost money, plus living expenses and, of course, buying tons of shit. It's not called "Collectormania" for no reason... XD I don't really know if I can justify it. I really want to go, though - Alan Tudyk and Ron Glass (Firefly) are going to be there, as well as Mira Furlan and Patricia Tallman (Babylon 5), Julie Benz (Buffy/Angel) and, I think, Ian Somerhalder (Lost). Mostly I want to meet Alan and Mira... especially Mira. I've never been to a con like this before - only Nimbus 2003 and an anime con (very briefly...). Nothing with actors from my favourite shows, so I've never met any actors I like... I really want to some day, and this seems like a good opportunity (since there are barely ever cons in Vancouver, at least not for my fandoms... I should get into Stargate; it's got at least one big convention here).
Anyone want to come with me? XD You can fly with me to Italy after and hang out for awhile (though I'll be in classes for part of each day). I'm not sure that I want to go to the con alone, but I can always meet people online (esp. to find people to share hotel rooms with, to cut down the price). Oh well, I'm going to look into it and see if it's feasible. I don't really have the extra money... can't really afford the Italy program, either. XD
Okay, I should really be working. o.o Haven't done a damned thing all day, and it's already 2pm. Class in a couple of hours... shit. -_- Going to go each lunch and try to do something productive like, say, start the essay that's due next week... no idea what I'm going to say on it.
