Nov. 22nd, 2004 06:40 pmI have done the unthinkable... the thing I swore I would never do...
*whispers* I have downloaded episode one of the Fullmetal Alchemist dub.
*dead silence*
Okay, so possibly that was a tad over-dramatic.
Anyway, only a week ago I was dead set that I would never watch the dub; I didn't want to see it, it doesn't air in Canada anyway, and even though I'll probably buy the DVDs I had planned to never ever watch the dub. But curiousity has overcome me. ;_; Also, I am v. v. amused by all the discussion over at
fm_alchemist - they've been posting transcripts of AIM chats about the dub, where Ed's VA came into the chat and joined in with the crazy fangirlness. Poor guy. And now Roy's VA (
mustangactor) has joined the community and he did a chat, too. O.o I am totally amused by him - he said that Ed is his bitch. ^____^ And he now has a harem of military girls in miniskirts on the community... heh. Anyway, both of them sound like great guys, and evidently Roy's VA did a good job as Roy in ep3, which just aired (I don't even remember Roy being in ep3... haven't seen it in monthes, since before I became interested in the show). So I'm giving it a chance, if only to decide that I hate it and will never watch it again. *grins*
So, off to watch now. Then back to speed-reading the extremely depressing book on Rwanda that I have to read for Anth by, like, Wednesday (presentation on it on Friday, when I also have a term paper due). I'm so screwed. ;_; And it's not exactly light reading - I mean, it's easy enough to read, but the subject matter is so disturbing. It occurred to me in class today that I was in France at the time of the genocide (in May '94; I was 8) - and the French were allies of the Hutu Power gov't. O.o
