To any Americans who may be reading this... congratulations. :)

Yeah, Canadian or not, I actually got up half an hour earlier than normal to watch the life coverage. ^^ Don't have to be at work until 9:30 and can prob push it a bit, so barring setbacks I'll be able to watch the actual swearing in. Hope so, cuz it's not the same on the Tivo or news reruns later... anyway, it's incredible seeing just how many people are there - wow. And amusing seeing the crowd reactions (some smattered polite applause when Bush Sr. & Bush came out, and wild applause for the Clintons and now Biden. :) Waiting as I write this for Obama to come out, and just praying that nothing bad will happen... *prays* Okay, being pessimistic. ^^

...And there he is. ^__^ Such an amazing day... I'm certain I'm gonna get all teared up. ^^ Ya'll are so lucky, we need an Obama up here. ;) (never though I'd see the day where I would say something like that!)

Okay, better go eat breakfast and finish watching.

I bought an inauguration pizza last night so I could bribe myself awake with cold pizza this morning. It worked. And yes, I teared up a bunch too. Luckily I didn't have to work until 5 so I got to wallow around in the history all day. It was when he and Michelle got out of the limo to do the traditional walk for the people that I held my breath (trying not to think what I was thinking lest the thought be the one that tipped some cosmic thought-jinx balance thing). Whew.

What a relief that Barack Obama is the President of the United States of America!!!

I looked you up because I thought you must have been pleased to see Biden sworn in using the Hogwarts Spell Book. :^) I roared when Jon started rhyming.

Yeah, it was all pretty amazing... hard to believe still that the last 8 years are over and we can now call Bush "former president". Woo hoo! Loved seeing the helicopter flying away with the Bushes inside (and lol-d at that being the Moment of Zen in TDS). And yeah, Hogwarts Spell Book - awesome. (as was Stephen tearing up, because it really seemed like some of it was genuine before he started playing it up).

I liked how enthusiastically Bush waved as he got on the helicopter, like, "Thank God THAT'S over with!"
