Okay, calmer now... Don Bell (Liberal) is ahead in my riding, so yay! And all things considered I guess the Liberals didn't do as badly as some people were projecting. I don't think Harper will be able to do anything too drastic (ie. overturn same-sex marriage...), but I still can't believe that he's going to be our Prime Minister. I fear us becoming like the US...

Wouldn't overturning same-sex marriage lose quite a bit of support? Are they stupid enough to actually do that? :p

Yeah, it will, and yeah, they are. O.o; Harper's stated that he wants to call a free vote on it. Though I think he has to get the support of the other parties in order to call that vote. It's ridiculous, I wish they'd just let it stand instead of constantly bringing it back up again. *sigh*

How do the Bloc and NDP feel about the Conservatives? Because I just heard on the news that Paul Martin might want to strike a "deal" with them to keep his position in power. I don't really understand what that meant. I'm a politics noob. :/

I'm pretty much a politics noob, too... I know both parties have agreed with them about wanting the Liberals out, but in general I don't think they agree much. Certainly, most of the NDP policies run counter to the Conservatives (from what I know... which is pathetically little. ergh.) Not sure about the Bloc.
