HOBBIT. Also, FANEXPO. and a meme.

First things first: OMG GUYS THE HOBBIT TRAILER. OMFG. I have shivers! I watched it a couple of hours ago with my cousins and now they're in bed and I put in my headphones to watch again, this time in HD, and OMG SHIVERS. I can't believe this movie actually exists now, for real! And Martin Freeman, so perfect! I need to re-read The Hobbit; I don't know it that well compared to LotR... will wait until later the year probably so it'll be fresh in my mind. Otoh, maybe not the best idea, lol, because then I'll notice the changes more. ^^ Kinda want to re-read LotR, too; it's been awhile. I asked for the Blu-Ray extended edition for Christmas to go with my Blu-Ray player and soon-to-come-shiny-new-flatscreen-TV. Haven't seen the extended editions of TTT/RotK for YEARS. Think I only saw them each once. Seen the theatrical editions more often, between seeing them in theatres (4 times for RotK ^^) and coming across them on TV.

ALSO: FANEXPO IS COMING TO VANCOUVER. FUCK YES. Can't wait for the guest list to start being announced. It's about time we had a proper media convention up here.

And on a vaguely related note...

Which TV shows did you start watching in 2011?

Stargate Atlantis (finally), Castle (also finally, though I've yet to completely catch up), True Blood (just caught up a few weeks ago - wtf so ridiculous, but entertaining), Fringe (FINALLY, and omg it was really good. I watched 9 eps of season 2 in a row one day because I HAD to know what was going to happen with Peter.), Hawaii Five-0, Grimm (need to catch up), Once Upon a Time (ditto), Terra Nova (some of it), and just started watching Sports Night (2 eps in)

Which TV shows did you let go of in 2011?

Well, I only made it a few eps into Terra Nova before giving up out of sheer boredom, does that count? ^^ I still see bits of it if Mom's watching it at my place, or at Fontana's. Oh, also The Office. Finally gave up near the end of last season.

Which TV shows did you mean to get into but didn't in 2011? Why?

Hmm... this year's kinda been the opposite of that - it's been the year when I've finally watched several things I've been meaning to for ages (Castle, SGA, Fringe). So nothing really in particular.

Which TV shows do you intend on checking out in 2012?

Possibly Game of Thrones. Also intending to watch more than 2 eps of Sports Night. :) Is Aaron Sorkin's new show scheduled to start next fall? If so, then that. Still need to watch Dollhouse. I'm trying to remember what shows are starting midseason... might check out Alcatraz? I dunno, I need to find new (old) shows to watch/catch up on this coming year, now that I've finally watched a lot of the shows I've been meaning to watch.

Which TV show impressed you least in 2011?

Well, Terra Nova got pretty awful pretty quickly, but that didn't really surprise me. Glee's kinda painful at times but I still enjoy it. The Office became pretty much unbearable, and I have no idea what this season has been like without Steve. Oh, and let's face it, Torchwood: Miracle Day was basically disappointing all around.

Which TV show do you think you might let go of in 2012 unless things significantly improve?

Hmm... I'm up and down on Grimm and Once Upon a Time - I need to catch up properly, not just watch them out of the corner of my eye at Fontanas. So we'll see about those. Of the shows that I've been watching for awhile, I think I'm sticking with them all for now.

Which TV show impressed you the most in 2011? Why?

Shows currently on the air? Hmmmm, good question. Community remains awesome and I'm loving it more and more. End of SPN s6 and beginning of s7 were really good, other than that it's been a bit up and down. Of shows that I just caught up on this year, I loved Fringe a lot. Am not 100% crazy about s4, nor about parts of s3, but overall it was very enjoyable to watch.

Which TV shows do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why?

Supernatural. Not that I think it's gotten that crappy, there have been some great eps this season, but I do miss the earlier seasons... but I'm still very invested in the characters and the universe, even if I'm not quite as much as I used to be. Also I'm sticking with Glee for now, no matter how ridiculous it is. Though I've yet to see last week's ep... TiVo was having issues.

Shows I watched and loved that aren't mentioned on this list because I started them in another year
Lol what, just random shows? Um, how about shows I watched last year: Due South, obviously. ;) Slings & Arrows. Battlestar Galactica. There are probably others...

(also, WTF? I just went to comment in a community and the comment area is totally different. When did this change???)
