Countdown to the Emmys!

Only a few hours left until the red carpet! Then Emmys at 8! Oh yeah. :) Am kinda ridiculously excited, considering that as usual the things I wanted to be nominated weren't, and as usual the ones that I want to win won't. But oh well, I'm still looking forward to it. If anything, I like seeing all the actors... looking forward to seeing the Losties (for the small part of me that still cares), the Heroes cast, evidently Wentworth is there even though he and PB aren't nominated afaik, Hugh and the other House cast, of course, and lesse... various others. The FNL cast (finally got my FNL DVDs and am enjoying finally seeing the rest of the series). Wonder if Jared and Jensen will be there? Dunno if SPN got any nominations, probably not.

Anyway.. before that, I have to do some work for Mom, joy joy. Sigh. So what am I doing? Sitting on the couch watching Friends and posting on LJ. Productive, no?

Oh yeah, and I watched the first episode of Reaper - very entertaining. :) Adding it to my list of things to definitely check out this fall.

Also, here's a sketch of J.D I did last night. Getting very addicted to Scrubs... and J.D./Cox fic. *cough* Gonna try to draw Cox next.

I figured it was the pilot based on how different it looked, then when I heard Jerry call Kramer 'Kessler' I knew it was... but I'm sure I've seen several of those scenes before, so I guess I've seen the other version. Tried to find more info, but wasn't able to... just on tv.com.

Whaddya mean? Oh, you mean on your shiny new satellite? ;) Yeah, it's funny, cause they're in LA, but I think they air back east first... 8pm here, red carpet at 6, but probably at 4pm back east. Because I remember watching them last year in Halifax and they started ~8. Weird. Why don't they just air them at 4 here?? Anyway, I checked the TV guide and I'm quite sure they start at 8 here. They're not on right now, at any rate, afaik. Except for you. ;p *is jealous*

I know that there are flashbacks later in the season of various things (like Jerry moving in and meeting a somewhat-normalKramer for the first time). Maybe you saw one of those?

On the Digital TV/HDTV, yeah. You should consider getting DigitalTV, at least. Eventually they'll phase out analog and it'll all be digital. Monthly, it's only $1 more than Classic Cable (which you have). You just have to let them ream you on the signal receiver box or PVR (with a built-in signal receiver box). You get a shiny Program Guide and access to variety of other channels, some of which you have to pay extra for (but they're relatively cheap).

Nah, pretty sure I saw it properly. Lesse, here's the quote from tv.com: "There are two versions of this episode: the Original Pilot Version and the Revised Pilot version. Both are included on the Season 1&2 DVD." Intriguing.

Tempting. :) Dad said that he's heard that everything's going to be digital in a few years, so...

The other thing with the Program Guide is that you can use it to make your VCR record shows for when you might be out of the house, so you don't have to call your parents up and have them do it manually. Plus DigitalTV comes with US time shifting, so it would probably free-up that nasty TV schedule of yours.

I'd do it. $1 more no big deal, and you could pay for two of the $98 Digital receiver boxes for your TVs if you really wanted it, so it really wouldn't come down to anything extra from your parents. Something to mull over, I guess. At the end of the trial period I want the Digital TV + Movies package, but I need to talk it over with my Dad first. >.>

The Digital TV PVR is a lot more expensive though, at $325, but you can pay it off with a $10/month plan, but the PVR isn't really necessary.
