That reminds me of this old sitcom called "An American in Canada" (or something). It was about a high-profile US news reporter being transferred to a backwater cable station in Toronto (I think) where it was typically Canadian--freezing temperatures, snow, polite coworkers, etc. It made quite a bit of jokes about both cultures and countries. I never really followed the show, though.
